I just don't get the purse for this fight. 12 million to Fury and probably around 500k to Schwartz.

ESPN must not have learned a thing from HBO boxing. HBO kept paying big name fighter for **** fight. It eventually cost them.

 

HBO paid big money to Game of Thrones, not boxers.

 

Lots of people go to concerts and plays and many other things — doesn’t make those things a sport.

Darts isn’t a sport. It’s a recreational activity.

Anything you can do better while drunk than while sober isn’t a sport.

 

Maybe you just started watching boxing but HBO had boxing and HBO paid millions to boxers for mediocre fights. Their show was top notch but the constant over payment did them in.

 

Not in the same way Fury just got paid and DAZN is paying. HBO ended its boxing due to increased budgeting for TV shows.

Btw you aren’t making sense. Overpaying 10 and 20 years ago didn’t kill them. They shut down a year ago.

 

There are countless well written article on why HBO boxing folded. These articles all paint a picture of over paid fighters fighting in matches o one was willing to watch. It had nothing to do with their other shows. If HBO boxing made a profit they would have kept the program going.

 

How dare you, darts is great. I get to have ten pints while a fat bloke stands 10 yards in front of me trying to throw a dart into a tiny target, having to deal with me and everyone else behind him shouting he's a **** the entire time. It's the noblest of arts.
