All you are trying to do is pick apart Vit's resume w/o doing the same for DW, giving DW's opp a benefit of the doubt. No point in this discussion
Peter was a WBC champ. Gave close to prime Wlad a tough fight and dropped him 3 times. Defeated Maskaev (champion), Toney (champion), and McCline. Deteriorated after the second Klitschko loss.
Wilder is a terrible boxer. He was outboxed more than once during his career. Not sure about official scorecards but Ortiz likely outlanded Wilder two times before being stopped. Someone like Johann Duhaupas probably was winning too...
Neither Klitschko ever handled getting jabbed back very well. Like Ali against Norton, and Holmes against Spoon and Williams, sometimes the best jabbers can be totally thrown off when they pop their jab and the other guy's jab comes right back and hits them in the mouth. Wlad basically froze and couldn't fire when Fury jabbed and moved with him. It's a lot easier to jab an opponent to death when he is shorter just puts his gloves over his face and tries to get inside. Vitali made a career out of that. So did Wlad. Unlike Wlad, Vitali also fought a lot with his hands down because he was the bigger guy and was good at keeping the proper distance (except against Lewis, who tore his face off with a basic one-two). I imagine Fury would work off the jab. Move. Get Vitali to hesitate and Fury works him over. Fury is not the guy Vitali or Wlad ever liked or wanted to fight. Hell, even Timo Hoffman went the distance with Vitali and Wach went the distance with Wlad simply because they were tall and jabbed enough so the Klitschkos never felt confident enough to go for a KO. I always thought if Wlad and Vitali fought each other, Vitali would win. But Wlad probably did better against Fury than Vitali would've done. Wlad had a defense and could block punches. Vitali kept his arms too low to be successful against a bigger, jabbing brawler like Fury.
I think the only version of Fury that could win is from the 2nd Wilder fight any other version get's outworked by the more active Vitali. I doubt either gets ko'd this goes the full 12 rounds.
You're doing exactly what you are accusing me of doing. Wilders gets a lot of heat for his resume and rightfully so because resume is weak but with Vitali Klitschko people don't keep that same standard.
Wlad did better than Vitali would have done? Did you see the fight? Wlad was a deer caught in the headlights against Fury. Took him 9 rounds to throw a right hand. Wlad had perfected the jab clinch method. That was never going to work against Fury and Wlad didn't have a plan B. Wlad could have closed the gap quicker and cut the ring off but that would have required taking risks and Wlad wasn't about it I would say that a prime Vitall would definitely have made more of a fight than Wlad did but still would of had the same problem as Wlad. Its hard to beat a bigger man with a longer reach who refuses to engage and is happy to jab to the body and move around for the next 2 minutes. A prime Vitali does much better that a past prime Wlad.
