Wilder, as limited as he is will go down in history as one of (maybe even the) hardest HW punchers in history whereas no will have a f*****g clue who a single one of Vitali's victims are in 10 years.
Wilder was American and very hyped. The facts are he beat a very old Ortiz, and who else? He did not beat one man in the top ten in his prime. Not one, and struggled in some other matches vs. tier two heavyweights. Peter was a world champion, Sanders was too and beat Wlad who is MUCH better than Ortiz. Briggs a lineal champion. Many others were in the top ten and in their prime when Vitali beat them hardly losing a round in the process. If you suggesting Fury's resume is better, your flat our wrong. Wilder for now is best remembered for the excuse an outfit he wore him out entering the ring! That's an all-time excuse, isn't it? Yes-- it is. Give it some time, let Wilder get KO'd again, and you'll catch on that he won't be remember that fondly.
Which ranked man did Wilder stop? He went the distance with his two highest ranked opponents twice and was Ko'd once. Power is tied to class. Wilder is 0-3 vs top 3 ranked guys. Fact. Also, Fury doesn't have a top chin, he was hurt by Cunningham of all people. Many punchers can blow out old men and fat guys. Since when has boxing tuned into belt milkers's Ko'ing people who don't deserve title shots? That really doesn't me, but it might impress you.
The blissful irony of Vitali fans pointing out Wilder's resume isn't very good and one of his best wins was old
Ever wonder why you have irked so many posters in the past? I wish I could say good riddance, but you are staying. Maybe not as Mcvey but with another alt name. So long Tonto62, and Rainer, do keep Mcvey company.
Fury must have a couple of inches on Vitali, given how much taller he was compared to Wlad and there's not much between the brothers height wise.
Fury looked to have less than 2 inches on Wlad, who was listed at 6'6" tall. I do think Fury is slightly taller that Vitlai but who picks a match based on 1 " or less of height? I'm also sure Fury carries 20 more pounds of fat, doesn't hit as hard, was busted as a pro for PED's, doesn't take as good of a punch and can be outboxed as seen on cards vs mediocre non top ten competition. While his win over Wilder was impressive, I say he just exposed hype. Odd the Fury fans now need to prop Wilder up.
Wilder has 10 defenses of the WBC title (including a draw with Fury), was undefeated and regarded as an ATG puncher. I checked Vitali's record and there appears no such name in there.
It is funny how some here try to hype Vitali's record. His record is not great by any standards. His best win is Sanders or Sam Peter. He also has two losses that can't be overlooked.
I'm not sure whether you're understanding the point I made since you seem to be wanting a discussion about other side topics, concerning Vitali K and his opposition. The simple matter is that I think Wilder - regardless of what one thinks of him - will be remembered for longer, by more people than just about every meaningful opponent Vitali beat. I don't think what I have suggested adds to any 'hype' of Wilder and I have been one of Wilder's bigger critics. However, it's common sense that a guy, who has terrorized a division with one KO after another, regardless of his level of opposition, is eventually going to have caused a stir amongst the wider sporting public. Moreover, almost every expert going has talked of Wilder in terms of being an All-Time Great Puncher. Any opponent, who has entered the ring with him has had to accept the possibility of having his lights put out. Wilder is more of a phenomenon that anything Vitali faced. That's just the reality of the situation. Why is it that you seem unable to accept this rather obvious circumstance?
Vitali's highest ranking win is against Sam Peter. Vitali doesn't have a single A level win to his name and has two losses. One of them a quit job and the other when he wasn't good enough to take the torch from the aging champ. Fury snatched the torch with ease. Has never lost and boasts wins over an active lineal champion and a WBC champion with multiple defenses. Fury has the better resume and has already climbed higher than Vitali on the ATG ladder.
Sanders being older and fatter is the only FACT of that situation .. Your dishonesty is not a FACT. Corrie Sanders: Heavyweight world champion Wednesday 26 September 2012 This content is protected This content is protected Would Wladimir Have Beaten Corrie Sanders In A Rematch? 2009 - 18 Comments By Erik Schmidt: Instead, it was left to the harder-chinned older brother, Vitali Klitschko, to seek out revenge. Vitali did end up stopping Sanders a year later in 2004, but only after Vitali took some huge shots that would have likely put Wladimir in a coma had they landed. The Sanders that Vitali fought wasn’t the same fighter that Wladimir fought a year earlier. Sanders looked much heavier around the middle in the fight with Vitali, and didn’t appear to have trained all that hard for the fight. Despite being heavier than he was in the Wladimir fight, Sanders gave Vitali a lot of problems and hit him with harder shots than Vitali had been hit with in his loss to Lennox Lewis.
