Boxing isn't a contest to see who can be the most humble. 3 years ago.... weren't alot of us complaining about how the fighters were too nice: Klitschkos, Ibragimov, Liakovich...etc. So, let them talk big. also, I'm more impressed with Fury's 1st 6 opponents than most other current and passed heavies.
good luck to him. i had doubts about his power but those body shots he gave belshaw set me straight. hes arrogant but its an act, did u not see the sportsmanship he demonstrated at the end of that fight
he is a decent prospect, although I think derek chisora would beat him. His conditioning needs to be worked on, he is 20 years old with the flabby body of a 50 year old.
****ing hell this thread brought out the newbies! Yes Fury is arrogant, but that, alongside his name, gets him attention in the media and that will help him and everyone involved with him to earn money much easier, which is the main objective.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dxPO_Z57xg&feature=related Yeah he's certinly better then Foreman, Tyson, Bowe, And both the klits
He's just trying to drum up more publicity which has been done by hundreds of fighters over the years. You can't blame the lad really and I think he has a big future in the sport.
tyson fury is one of the most exciting prospects to come out of the u.k in years his power is improving all the time and he has very fast hands for a heavyweight why all the bull**** racist comments ?? imagine someone said blacks or mexicans stink , there would be ****ing uproar !!! ****ing internet tough guys who probably havent thrown a punch in there lifes !!
Peter should just come and fight him, breaking his ribs, taking his head off his neck and knocking him out in the process
I'll be shocked if he gets much further than British/European title level. I heard someone the other day saying how good the British HW scene is at the moment....but in all honesty, it's only exciting because so many people are operating on the same level, and that level is below world class (with the exception of Haye)!!! I think the prospect to save the HW division will be Deontay Wilder, I've seen a few of his fights and I really like what I see. Obviously we'll have to see how he takes a punch against a legit world class heavyweight, but I see real potential in him. Fury's good for bringing interest, but don't expect too much from him!!!
I've only seen him on amatuer camera, but Perez looks very good!! I just think Wilder has all the elements a current day heavyweight needs!! And...he looks in good shape which is a start!!! As with all prospects, we have to see how they handle the pressure of the big fights and how their chin holds up against legit heavies though!!
******ed isn't it? People complain about the abhorrent state of the HW division, then a young, fighting-willing, talented big guy comes along and they hate him, say that he's a bum, etc. Makes me ashamed to be a boxing fan sometimes. :-(
