Yeah, Basile isn't a strong opponent and usually Fury should run him over in a round or two. But, he's been off for a bit and looked a bit out of shape last I saw a few clips of him. Basile might give him a few more rounds than normal and thats what they probably want.

Fury is talking about fighting again in April and Chisora in the summer so he's looking at being busy so a pretty easy fight to get things started isn't all that bad.

I agree he probably could take on someone a little better but after some inactivity and the fight being on Chisora's undercard I guess a guy like Basile is ok for the circumstances.

He's no World beater, thats for sure.

He's a decent journeyman and they picked him as a safe choice for Fury to remove a bit of rust.

Either you are a Fury nutthugger or you're just joking, which one is it?

Give the man a break he's been out of action for the last year and by the looks of it has developed breasts. It's unclear at the moment what his estrogen levels are and whether that contributed to him developing a pair of tits so outrageously large that they cannot be supported by a man made bra. I am taking bets that his current calorie intake exceeds the euro millions jackpot.

    I'm drunk.

    I want some of what you're drinking. Or maybe I don't, I don't know.

I'm not saying he'll win, just that he's in good form and will be coming to win.

He wasn't picked to test Fury or even be that durable, he's purely there for Fury to get a couple of rounds under his belt and then face someone better in April.

It's all about Chisora vs Fury in June, neither are going to have tough fights till that one.

He is not a decent journeyman. In his last fight Basile fought some Ruiz Dias guy and this is how it looked http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xk6V7VM_A8M . He has been knocked out 7 times, he's 40 years old and his last knockout loss was VS someone who's 5-7-1.

There are plenty of safe journeymen out there but this fight is simply ridiculous.

Fury would remove more rust just sparring or hitting the heavybag.

    This.

It's purely a fight for Fury to get wet again.

He'll be out in April against a slightly tougher journeyman but the fight that count will be a World Title eliminator against Derek Chisora in June and his team won't be risking that fight by putting him in against someone who he could potentially lose against.

Fury was really working hard for his fight with Haye, but Haye backed out. One tuneup fight and then he will fight Chisora, after that Wilder if he can get him into a ring...........

Very odd, if anyone else was fighting Basile Fury would say they're fighting grandads or bums.

Tyson Fury: What will beating Gonzalo Omar Basile prove?

It proves that if you sign to fight Haye there's a good chance you will be fighting a tune up fight almost a year later after a wasted year of inactivity.
