If he fights anyone decent, he'll be face down on the canvas.

But he won't... He'll go after bums, claiming they're great, and demand attention whilst doing nothing to deserve it.
Fury will quite literally be a heavyweight Tank at this point (just without the power).

Can see him losing in his first half-decent tune-up, too many wars, too many drugs, and lagers outside the ring. If the Makhmudov fight happens, I'm backing Mak to beat Fury in a major upset.

While I agree, it’s not strictly fair to only call out Fury for this imo

Joshua having fought Ngannou and Jake Paul as 2 of his last 3, and Usyk pursuing Deontay Wilder in 2026 as a voluntary defence over Kabayel/Wardley etc, is likely as bad as any crime Fury may or may not commit in 2026.

Your comment ironically describes Joshua’s recent career perfectly: went after bums and looked great against them in Jake Paul, Ngannou and Wallin, and when he faced someone decent (Dubois) he ended up face down on the canvas. (I’ll cut him some slack post-car crash)

    True enough.

Joshua's not claiming to be king of the division off the back of annihilating Ngannou and beating Paul...

Fury very much would be claiming to be "back" and at the top of the division even if all he beats are more Schwartz/Seferi type soft touch opponents - that's just Fury and what he's like.

I'm not looking to defend any of that.

It's possible that beating Ngannou and Wallin (both with ease where Fury struggled) was an attempt to back Fury into a corner and make him man up and fight... If it was, it clearly didn't work, and those wins don't add anything significant to Joshua's career resume so in hindsight it looks a waste of time - and in hindsight it was a waste of time.

Fury doesn't have time to mess about with if he wants to actually get back to the top and prove something - unlike Joshua (since you brought him up), Fury has never spent a significant period of time undeniably at the very top of the division...
He has a good win against Wlad, with an asterisk for hiding from the rematch, and he has a trio of decent wins against Wilder (asterisked by the fact Wilder's entire career is one big asterisk) but at no point has he been up there clearly for any period of time.

Realistically it's too late to fix that - but what I really don't want to see is fury vacuuming all the attention out of the division while it needs to rebuild unless he's actually fighting decent guys... And I'm not convinced he will be.

I thought you posted that Wardley would beat him? Are you breing real, or has the fury delusion kicked back in?

    No.

Other more deserving boxers will be The Face of Boxing in 2026.
