Can't see it myself...he needs some major improvement, but saying that, Steward is probably the man for the job.

I wonder if this means that Wlad is close to retiring.

Neither can I to be honest.

I like Fury, he's a great talker, and is involved in good fights, but I think he has a lot of technical issues to iron out, mainly footwork issues. I notice when he gets aggressive, that he over-commits to shots, lets his feet catch up with each other, and just looks sloppy when he gets overly aggressive.

    Oh, Steward said it. :yep

Steward's the man but he talks a lot of **** and doesn't always mean all of it (or maybe does sincerely at the time, but later thinks better of it and contradicts himself).

You don't think he will, do you goon?

Deffo not. I think you would have to strip Fury down technically, go back to working on his footwork and balance before you could even attempt to envisage anything like that, and even then its a stretch.

Definitely, another major issue is his stamina. Havn't been impressed with it at all, especially against McDermott the second time...he looked as if he was about to give up/keel over at times.

But I guess that will come in time.

Fury has a lot going for him and if he can improve, I see no reason why not. The man to improve him is Steward, so let's hope he can do it. Whether Fury can improve enough is the big question but at least he has the basics, the desire and the conditions to improve.

I think he'd be the best person to dominate post-Klitschko's anyway. He's a warrior through and through.

I did notice that during the rematch, but I think we need to cut him slack there maybe. If you remember, Ian Nape fought a week or so before, and fell victim to the heat. That summer was extremely hot from what I remember, so I wont crucify him for it, as I've never seen stamina problems in previous fights.

Fury seemed to fight at a good pace in the first fight imo.

Oh that's right, yeah. Napa was the week before wasn't it...

I guess he can get a pass on that one. :D

Still hasn't shown me the durability for him to even come close to the Top 10 fighters in the division, never mind ruling it though. Wait and see, see if Steward can work his magic.

Emanuel knows his **** - he's seen the trepanning traveling man, wilmslow wrecking ball, up close.

Unlike most heavies Fury is a fighter - he's proud of being a boxer.

In a couple of years he's going to be taking all these guys apart.

Considering his lack of world class power, he would need excellent ring generalship to negate someone from getting inside his range. Wlad is good from long range, but he also has world class power, to keep you in your place, make you pay a price for trying to pressure him, what does Fury have?

Fury has already looked less of a fighter when backed up.
