Ok-- I just saw Fury's debut. He's not a stiff. He is a big man with fluidity in his punches, good hand speed, good accuracy and good power. For a big man, Fury goes to the body extremely well. Fury holds one hand very low, but at this stage of the game that will not matter. I hear he has never been down as an amateur. If this is true, he probably has a good chin. At age 20, Tyson Fury seems to have great potential. Since his dad was a tough person, his son cannot be that soft. I do think young Tyson Fury needs to tone up a bit though. I want to see this cat fight again.
He is gud fighter ba he needs to be in gud shape coz he is only 20 nd will gain sum more weight with da age
for a twenty year old prospect he showed amazing maturity in not gettin clocked by zeller who may be lighter but was squate and explosive, tyson has got some issues ie low stamina which im sure will get better he only trained for four weeks, and visibly low defence which a better boxer could exploit, but for a big man hes got good handspeed, decent power a good chin which was evident when he did get clocked on the chin, and he picks his punches well out of his large variety of punches
i think he should go wit an irish title first then british then commonwealth and so on . no need to rush him as he is only 20
i agree with wat u say his chin was tested at 1 point in the match when zeller came off the ropes and clocked with a hard right hand and tyson just blinked, as for toning up he only trained for four weeks i think once he changes his diet and trains for longer hell be built like a tank:good
I like this kid. I think he has a very good chance of making it. However, he needs to change somethings. First off he needs to get a better stance, that his his biggest problem at the moment. Next he will have to increase his muscle mass, and add more power into his arms and chest. But this will all come with more training, and a better trainer. I think the best thing for him is to take things fight by fight and get some experience, I hope that he does not get rushed, as I think that rushing fighters is a big problem these days. As for his chin, I reckon it will hold up, he is a gypo so he should be quite a tough kid in that respect. Although, saying that it does not mean it is granteed.
First I'm admittin' to asking this without having read the whole thread first, so please excuse me if this is covered as I go back. But who about who is this guy? Did he medal at the Olympics or something? I saw on the front page on a brief skim that his 3rd opponent had a record of 21-3!!! I mean damn, how does that happen? Thanks.
Actually that was his second opponent, last night. His am pedigree is he lost in the European finals, and he was ranked #3 in the world juniors. Nothing amazing. I think its his name and size more than anything thats got people going.
How about that opponent, my man? Was his 21--3 record the kind that say Tye Fields built up on cans, or was this a pretty damned good fighter they threw him in with at such an early stage?
I just watched his debut fight. He looked raw but plenty of potential. He better hope he has a granite chin the way he keeps his hands down. Good speed and throws combos. It was nice to see a big man working the body. Hope he sticks around.
He had a good KO record but mostly built up on cans. He lost to the German heavyweight prospect Kretchsmann. All his wins are against lowly opposition, and frankly he didn't look as great as his record would suggest. Looked kinda mentally unstable. Not a bad opponent for a second fight of course. I think they are talking about moving him along quickly to British title level, so its going to be interesting.
not bad but its very early days. dont rate his power too highley however. he hit zeller with lots of flush shots and the zany german never really looked close 2 going over..
