The kid is 20 years old and can actually land effective bodyshots. He also fights alot. He has potential. Give him some slack, the kid is still in diapers. Heavyweights don't reach their prime until their early 30's, especially huge heavy's like Fury.
Yeah, absolutely no reason to rush him, though I'm pretty sure his peckerhead dad and management will make sure he is rushed.
waaaaaaaaaaay to early to tell if he's ganna do anything, can't judge his fight game either at this stage, 20 years old for heavyweight is extremely young when most heavys reach peak at late 20s early 30s (allowing for style and development). having said that long time since i've seen a heavy put combos together like that, very good set up and i like his attitude however i don't think he's ganna be the hardest to hit, very little head movement and looks he'll be cought many times as the op level increases which will tell us more about him. best Brit heavy prospect though (not saying much)
Sportsmanship? Rogan lost a fight due to that kind of sportsmanship last week. This is boxing, not football. There is no mercy rule.
that was completely different rogan was in a life and death fight, fury was fighting a bum who'd not landed a punch on him, already kissed canvas and had no chance of winning
That's because no one else in Britain will fight him. Anyway, that's no excuse, 10-1 fighters should be in shape and ready to fight all the time. It's not like they're peaking for one or two world title fights a year is it?
And if Belshaw was disapppointed not to be on the Rogan card last week then he must have been in decent shape.
:good I have similar feelings about Deontay Wilder. Just keep feeding these guys bums to make up for the lack of amateur experience.
This can backfore. though, the amatuers is a great place to learn fundamentals. Fighting bums for too long can sometimes do the opposite- since you can get away witha lot you can ingrain bad habits. There are lots of guys like Buck Jones and Tim Tomashek who are B-level superstars but just don't know what it takes to figth on a higher level. In a way, it is more beneficial to progress a man a a slow but steady pace, and if he loses, he loses. Sometimes a loss can teach more than a dozen wins.
Fair points, but it's not like guys like Fury or Wilder have the chance to go back to the amateurs, so, in lieu of that, give them a lot of bums to go through, rather than put them in with a Chagaev, Klitschko or even Povetkin or Chambers or Dimitrenko after 18 fights. That's what I'd do with a fighter like that anyways...
No, you're right. I wouldn't want to see either or these guys in there with a Chag or a Povetikin. I am going to get some **** for this, but I think a great example of a heavy well managed is Dimenrenko. They saw in some of those earlier fights that he was not quite physically mature, pulled him back a bit, and now are putting him agaisnst the Hoffmans and the Krasiniqi's of the world. Now they are letting him agaisnt a serious contender in Chambers, but even Chambers is a good stylistic match-up. They are very carefully measuring who he can beat at each stage of his carreer, and yet, even so, at 26 years old, he can claim 29 victories including wins over over Ross Purity, Vaughn Bean, Hoffman, Krasiniqi, and a host of middle of the road guys, agaisnt no losses. His power has improved dramatically and his chin a little just by physically maturing, and his ring intelligence has really come along. I say to his management team: well done.
Tyson needs to now step up against the 'fringe contenders' and other prospects Cengiz Koc http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=31264&cat=boxer Fernely Feliz http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=7902&cat=boxer Vladimir Lazenbik http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=243583&cat=boxer
Theres a line through Koc with Dettweiler and Sprott. Would be a bit of a risk but would give a good indication...
He's a clumsy uncoordinated ****er without any form of defense besides leaning back. The first guy with a pulse will **** him up royally.
