Klitschko had 67 fights before he faced Fury, including all the build-up stuff with David Haye. He had experience coming out of his ears. He thought Fury was an absolute clown but no way did he go into that fight ruffled. He was on his home patch in front of 55,000 in Düsseldorf. If anything it would have been the prospect of fighting in front of 80,000-90,000 AJ fans, having had 18 months out the ring off the back of a defeat that would have had him more mentally ruffled, surely?

Peter Fury knew that Klitschko doesn’t let his hands go unless it’s the perfect opportunity to do so. He knew Klitschko had to set himself to throw, so he set up a plan for Tyson to execute. Which is footwork, feints & jab. It was a fantastic victory. It wasn’t a fluke or a one-off.

I’m genuinely baffled how any boxing fan can call him average and/or hype up to 2015.

Yeah. It's totally fair for someone to say Fury's reputation is really just based on one fight, and he's going to be remembered as a flash-in-the-pan, one-hit-wonder type.
It's also fair to point out he beat an old man, however dominant that old man had been as champion.

But there's seems to be an added agenda driving the need by some to go further, trying to minimize the win over Wlad further by saying Wlad was boxing uncharacteristically or having an "off night" that had nothing to do with what Fury was doing in there.

At least give Fury his full credit for that one fight.
Then we can discuss how good or not he likely was/is.

Anyway, the odds are against him in this comeback. For him to comeback to beat any top contender, from being 370 pounds and been off over 30 months or more, that's unlikely. If he actually comes back and beats one of the two champions, he'd have to be hailed an an all-time great talent.
    Very unlikely though.

I do give credit to Fury for beating Klitchko. Whether Klit was ageing or whether he got into his head, he still beat a long standing champion. However if people think Fury was great then who else has he actually beaten? The answer to that question is no-one.
