....because both Ortiz' lug holes would be emphatically boxed off by Fury inside 6.

I've said even before Ortiz's lackluster performance last night that he's a boogeyman who's a good can crusher, will beat most fringe contenders, reasonably dangerous but would come unstuck against the divisions finest.

He's a Shawn Porter (pre Brook). He's an IIunga Makabu (pre Bellew). An Ismal Barroso (pre Crolla). A Lucien Bute (pre Froch). A Jeff Lacy (pre Calzaghe). And no doubt in my mind, an Errol Spence (before Brook also squares him away too). A boogeyman. This fear factor he posses is the fear of the unknown.

This most avoided tag is over used, most of that is his fault with promotional issues, a failed drug test and holding onto a bogus WBA interim title that ruled him out of world title eliminators for the WBC, IBF and WBO. Much like fellow "avoided" Cubans Rigondeaux and Lara, most of his moves in his career have been counterproductive to getting big fights, (although unlike Rigo and Lara, at least Ortiz has signed with a promotional company that has a working relationship with other promoters of the big fights in and around his division).

nice try troll, but I remember it wasn't that long ago when fury fought just like malik scott and went the distance in a snoozer with kevin johnson,

The jury is still out on fury himself and we don't know if it was because klitshcko got old or not, klitshchko did look poor vs jennings before that

Also ortiz would probably outbox fury in a similar style to how he beat scott

A 30 stone Fury would still have too much boxing craft for the slobbering plodder Ortiz.

Ortiz would outbox fury, it's funny trolls hold the scott fight against ortiz when he won every round, but when fury fought just like scott did when he fought kevin johnson not a word is said, pure hypocrisy

Nice try at a refute troll, but how exactly did Fury fight like Scott when Fury won every round against King Pin. There is a difference between running and outboxing which you don't seem to understand.

Ortiz couldn't cut the ring off to get glass chin Scott out of there, who has nowhere near the movement and skill of Fury, and bare in mind, Fury was 24 when he fought Johnson and still outmnouvered him. Ortiz is about 40, has had 500 amature fights, and can't even cut a ring off against Scott, just plodding round after him. So what hope in the hottest pits of hell would he have of doing it against Fury.

Can't argue with much you have said but I couldn't see Fury stopping him. But against the Ortiz who we saw last night, Tyson would secure a comfortable UD. Scott used movement to negate Ortiz's work and whereas that's all he could do to survive (it was a bit cringeworthy), Fury has better movement than Scott and would use his footwork to create openings for his own work as well as keeping Ortiz off balance. Last night, even when Ortiz was finally in range he was never balanced to let his hands go, had to set his feet and in the meantime, Scott had moved elsewhere. And okay, running might cause any boxer issues for a few rounds until they worked out how to cut the ring and trap their opponent, but throughout the 12 rounds Ortiz never got any closer to solving the puzzle.

That said, Ortiz might have more success against a boxer like Joshua, who does not have great movement or feet and is programmed to be the aggressor in fights. Ortiz might have chance to set his feet against AJ and get his punches off. So can't disregard Ortiz as a hype job just yet, but there's a blueprint to beat him now.

People saying Ortiz was exposed last night are insane. He won every round against a guy in survival mode running for dear life, and who should have been counted out in the 4th round.

Ortiz-Fury is still a 50-50 kind of fight.

Fury looked like a HW Manny Paquaioa against Johnson. He threw more punches in just the first 2 rounds than Malik Scott threw in the ENTIRE fight.
You just exposed yourself brutally. :spidey:

These are the only Fury threads we'll be seeing now. What he WOULD do.

What he would do, actually, is pull out of the fight or go bat(man)-spit crazy and claim he was being "stitched" if Ortiz showed up in shape.

What he actually would do is make a bunch of funny selfie videos and then go on a drinking and drugging binge and claim he's injured when in reality he's simply not ready.

Only way this happens is if they let them fight in Tyson's rubber room. But will they take off the straightjacket?

plz stop troll, and ortiz cut the ring off plenty in the fight he just needed to mix his attacks up a lil more like when he did to get the body shot knock down, you people are overrating fury massively, it wasn't long ago he was going life and death with guys like john mcdermott, and getting knocked down heavily by guys like firtha and cruiserweights, my point is don't underestimate ortiz boxing skill, if fury fought like he did vs klitshcko he's going to be getting hit that's the difference when ortiz get's hit he punches back unlike klitshcko

Jesus, i was at the fight it was horrible, and yeh obviously he threw more than scott but he did fight in a very similar and negative style, it's funny because johnson went what 2 rounds with joshua and 12 with fury right, no one holds that against fury, but when it's ortiz it's a different story especially when he wins every round, you people are insane saying ortiz was exposed

I was there too and it wasn't horrible in any way shape or form. It was a highly entertaining performance form Fury. He was throwing the kitchen sick into Johnson.

Good you probably don't know a thing about boxing anyway, the jury is still out of fury, fury was successful against wlad because wlad didn't punch back it's a different story with ortiz and ortiz can outbox fury and counter him, the more punches coming at ortiz the better he performs, he was a counter puncher mainly as an amateur

To be fair I think Fury could outbox Ortiz. Given Fury's antics I doubt we ever see it though.
