Yeah even though the opponent was poor, Fury boxed to a plan, used his height and reach advntage, used his jab, threw combos and got the guy out of there, no messing around. He's in better shape with each fight, and we know he's starting to take his career seriously. We also know he has plenty of heart and is very young. For a big man he doesn't move that badly either. More importantly for me, he's a character. The kind of guy I'd like to have a pint with. I'm a fan. Y'all can keep jumping on David Price's dick.
I like Fury. He's a character. And he can jab and hit and move. No doubt about it. BUT. I can't get over his physique. Boxing champs usually don't look like 97 lb. weaklings that get sand kicked in their face on the beach. I mean, he's 6'9", so he doesn't weigh 97 lb., but he looks like that 97 lb weakling to me, just twice as tall. Can anybody here remember any HW champ that looked like the 97 lb weakling we all remember from the Charles Atlas ads? I can't. All the champs I can remember looked like they could kick Charles Atlas' ass. Is it possible there is a superman inside that Clark Kent suit?
I thought he looked fit and focused. He used his jab well and in heavyweight boxing that is an important tool to have. The guy he fought looked over the hill but you can only beat whats in front of you and he is still learning his trade. I agree though, now is perhaps the time to step him up a level and give him a real test.
I would argue that the shorts of Kris Hughes against Carl Framton were worse. Don't understand the folk saying they'd have a pint with Fury. He gives me the creeps.
Henessy mentioned Adamek..........but Henessy is car salesman at heart.........he'll throw any old name out there just to keep the CH5 audience interested in his man. Will Adamek really be Fury's next opponent.........highly unlikely! Even Peter Fury kinda hinted that Fury still had some way to go before he gets in with a named fighter. Come November we will likely see more of the same.........a hand picked journeyman slugger. Afterwards there will be more "promises" that Fury's next fight will be a "step up"...........
thought he used his height well and actually punches straight - he looked a lot more professional to me. Against the Brazilian fell and Pajik is punches were looping all over the show but Mada one is tuff and nothing else epitomizes tough but limited slugger. Fury needs a Mike Mollo, Davaryl Williamson, hey even a Ray Austin or Jonathan Banks to get him ready. If hes still fighting these kinda fights (ie madalone) next year it could have a negative impact on him. Hes beaten decent domestic fighters, and some old war horses now he needs to get the B level heavies who can bang but are vulnerable in some way and give himself a test. Adamek might just have a bit too much know how at the minute but it would be a good fight to makae
I can't fault Fury's performance. He's improved A LOT since he first turned pro. He looked really sharp. Having said that, Maddalone is tailor-made for target practice. He's the epitome of a 'face first' ham-and-egger. He even seems to take some pride in his face-to-fist success rate.
Fury is looking better but when on earth is he going to step up in competition? He really needs to take on a "name". There's plenty of below par guys in the heavyweight top ten he could take a crack at.
I could see a really bad ex champ like Liakhovich or something. would look good for 5. thats about as much of a name as I could see. Put him in with dimitrenko i say.
