Given he says his comeback fight will be in April, will he be added to the TF or CF card or have a stand alone card?
Seeing as he himself says his comeback is in April, I will bet money on it being literally any other month than April.
He'll announce an April 1st come back then pull out like Hughie did against Parker and fool everyone stating he needs to have more gym time in his case.
Based on his current weight he's morbidly obese. So yeah I agree I doubt we see him back by April, even if he does lose all the weight that quickly he'll likely need surgery for the excess skin folds which will push the date back.
My translation of his very public offer to fight Joshua in his first comeback fight (no tune ups at all)is this. He’s struggling to continue being motivated in the gym and after an initial period of hard training he’s fallen off the wagon again. Secondly he’s burning through his money and realises that he won’t be making much in his tune ups which he can’t get motivated for anyway so needs to get straight in with AJ because he doesn’t have the desire anymore. Therefore he wants 2 things, 1 a date with Joshua which will motivate him and 2 The large paycheck he’ll get for the Joshua fight then win or lose he’ll retire again.
Sadly, this rings true. I'd love to see what a prime or close to prime Fury could do against AJ. But if he does come back, I think he'll be a shell of himself. He's just too mentally effed up.
How about Charr then Oquendo as warm ups? Then if he's still in ... WBA 'unification'. WBA dream come true. Would work for him too. Hughie on undercards.
I stated that this was my translation (supposition) of his latest statements. However it doesn’t take a genius to work out that he hasn’t made enough money during his career to live a life of luxury while also investing in the family business and supporting relatives.
