So in the news apparently Fury wilder trilogy match is being delayed due to a supposed covid outbreak. Now, Im not in the camp so I have no idea whether it's true or not. Maybe someone really did catch covid.

But to me, it's a little suspicious because Fury seems to be allergic to immediate rematches.

First the Wladmir fight. He won in a very close fight, then disappeared from the sport for like 3 years due to depression after binging on coke and alcohol. He came back and had two tune ups and fought wilder. They were supposed to have an immediate rematch, but he chose to milk out his ESPN/Arum money and fought two more bums. Fair play, but those matches proved absolutely nothing and just delayed a clear answer as to which fighter was the best in the division.

He finally rematched Wilder, but then tried to weasel his way out and fight Joshua for undisputed after we went like a whole damn year with none of the top 3 fighters facing each other due to Wilder rightfully taking him to court. He lost the case and the fight was finally on, but then by some amazing coincidence someone in Fury's camp caught covid.

There were rumors that Fury was not in the best shape/was lacking focus/etc. Arum let it slip that he was worried about Fury lacking activity during the long layoff due to the pandemic and going to court. Could this have something to do with it? Are they perhaps also worried about Wilder's threats and newfound motivation? Is fury just a control freak who won't enter matches unless things are all going his way? Idk, but this seems to be a very weird chain of events in his career.

He just caught covid, i dont see why that isn't the case. Fury already fought Wilder in a rematch though not immediate, but still a rematch. But Fury did avoid the contractually obligated rematch against Wladimir i won't lie.

Regardless Wilder will loose again, Fury delayed this fight but we cant forget that this fight has been delayed multiple time already in 2020 and the fact that Wilder said nothing about it made it seem like he didn't want the fight, which is likely why Fury tried to move on. I expect Wilder to loose again, though i also expect it to go the distance because Wilder will expect an agressive Fury this time. He will get his "combinations" nullified and as soon as Fury starts outclassing him on the inside and the outside, Wilder will revert back to trying to land his big right hand and fail. Though the truth is if Wilder showed intent to fight Aj for undisputed then I and so many others will have absolutely no problem with him knocking out Fury

Understandable to question. This is boxing. He did admit to faking his ankle injury to initially postpone the Wladimir rematch. But it is Covid and this has happened to other camps.

Idk what to make of this but the whole aura around this trilogy has been weird. The ticket sales and buzz around this fight has been underwhelming for the ESPN and FOX. Remember these guys are guaranteed $50 million combined for this fight and I definitively predicted a postponement was near due to the lack of buzz.

Perhaps they'll just scratch this fight and move onto Joshua.

I don't know why people think Fury would be scared of fighting Wilder. Anyone that makes up having covid is an idiot.

He's definitely had a pretty "unique" career up to this point that's for sure. Nobody has quite done it like him.

Named after a great boxer, becomes a viral meme for punching himself in the face, fights Chisora in a special who can show up the fattest match, defies the odds by defeating Wlad in Germany by throwing as few punches a possible, dabbles in wild boar meat leading to being suspended, then proceeds to spend 2 years getting drunk, high, depressed, morbidly obese, pleads naughty to UKAD to lift his suspension, outboxes Wilder for 34 mins out of 36 including rising from the dead, beats Wilder so badly in the rematch Wilder seemingly loses his mind, sets about to make the most lucrative fight in heavyweight history only to be forced to fight a mentally ill Wilder, then decides not the get fully vaccinated during the biggest pandemic in living memory and saves us from having to watch him beat up a mentally ill person.

If you made a film of Fury's career to date you'd spend half the time cheering him the other time screaming at him and throwing your shoe at the screen. Fury is a lot of things predictable isn't one of them.

A lot of that is Fury's fault. We could have gotten all 3 matches in a row or at least close to the same time frame, but Fury was constantly being a diva. From asking for extra tune ups, to claiming injuries, to claiming the 3rd fight expired and trying to fight joshua. Of course the buzz has gone down.

People can laugh at Wilder all they want, but you can't blame him for this stupid saga dragging on for so long.

    That's true.

I can't help but question whether Fury really has Covid. He does have a history of pulling out of fights, and he's very erratic in his behavior. Arum said Fury was fully vaccinated, surely by this time all the top athletes are.

Pull outs are part of the sport, Fury isn't worse than anyone else. Haye pulled out of two Fury fights back to back and Chisora pulled out of one. Haye actually mocked Fury then due to all the pull outs Fury was on the wrong end of, and these were big fights. Wlad also delayed either the first fight or the rematch, think it was the rematch, with an injury.

Fury's pull outs are actually more legit than most you'll come across. The one versus Ustinov wasn't even a real pullout since Chisora had pulled out already and Ustinov was a late replacement, then Fury's uncle died the day before. So that's a decent reason.

Then with Wlad, Fury went mental and they did fake the injury and try to buy time to get him right. He also missed a press conference and they pretended his car broke down. He wasn't fit to fight at that point.

With Wilder he only delayed the rematch because he got robbed without a powerful promotion behind him and wanted a fairer playing field. Also he was supposed to have more warm-ups before the Wilder fight but jumped the gun, so they put the extra fights in.

His reluctance to do Wilder 3 is understandable. Wilder was slandering him in a serious way and he didn't want to give him the fight and a big payday, add the AJ fight in there and the fact he'd already won both fights.

There's nothing too suspicious about any of it when you know the context. If Fury was a coward he wouldn't fight Wilder twice. He also took the first Wilder fight undercooked which is why every single person thought he was getting KO'd.

I think if you were going to lie about something to delay the rematch you'd just say you injured your shoulder rather than pretending to have a contagious disease.

Honestly, I'd love to see a new fearless Wilder that goes on to smoke Fury, AJ, and Usyk. But he's just not that guy.
