    Correct.
There is the whole undefeated confidence thing that many fighters carry.
It doesnt always come back after a loss

Comparing Ortiz to Wallin is absurd. Fury would never fight Ortiz.

Do you feel the amount of defences or quality of opposition is the important thing?

Do you rate Sven Ottke highly at SMW as has the joint highest number of world title defences in the SMW division.
I notice many dont rate Sven Ottke (I do) because they didnt know his career or many of the good fighters he beat, or the SMW era during that era.

So please answer the question about quality and quantity

I like Wilder and I rate him very highly.
I did a thread where I said about how he has taken his time to wait for the right moments.
But I think you could get a bit carried away.
I wonder if D Price had have had the same slow pace, if he would have gone further and how Wilder may have done at the European level pace?
I think its an interesting question

    What about landed?
Wilder didnt take Furys head off twice. He scored 2 KDs and in both of those rounds Fury came back stronger to dominate the action.
So in round 9 when Fury went down, can you show me this highlight of him taking Furys head off?

Considering the thread is 4 pages in, of discussion, and you need to ask this very question. I think its best you go to another thread

I didnt think his fight with Wallin was pathetic at all. Both Wallin and Schwarz were 2 big undefeated HWs

No of course not. He only travelled to Germany to face Wladimir Klitschko, travelled to America to face Deontay Wilder, and in his last 2 fights since has also fought away against 2 big undefeated HWs.
I seem to recall him calling out Ortiz age to Wilder when they were talking up their fight so maybe he may view him as old. Who knows?

Fury has never fought a top ten contender. Ortiz, of all people, would never be the first.

Neither had Wilder at the same amount of fights but you are giving him credit for facing Ortiz now?
Chisora became a top 10 contender in some publications and Fury beat him when he was undefeated and again when he was on arguably his best run.

But regardless of top10 conetenders, what Fury did do was beat the man. The champion and thats something no other active HW can yet claim

Fury’s opponents on his comeback have been dreadful. And Wilder’s career has been dreadful. Tired of people propping up one side or the other with their agenda.
Fury has greatly disappointed in his choice of opponents. However when he did fight Wilder and make no mistake Wilder’s team believed Fury was a cherry pick, Fury schooled him. And the only reason a rematch has any interest is the 12th round knockdown.
Neither of these guys are building any type of legacy. Joshua love him or hate him at least was trying to fight consistent legit opposition with Parker, Whyte, Povetkin and Wlad before before he got picked off.
Wilder has been a clown show and Fury since his surprise Wlad win has gone the same route.

Nope. It was a cherry pick gone bad. Credit to Wallin for showing up to fight but when Fury let his hands go he dominated Wallin. It happens from time to time when a huge underdog shows up and puts up a great fight but becomes a pumpkin again after the 1 great performance. If Wallin puts on another performance like last night against a contender , I'll be the first to make a thread about it him needing his just due.

Wallin against anyone else is a KO. He gets beat by everyone in the top 10.

I really believe that those fights one after the other were the cause of Joshua's defeats.
I agree Joshua took on big fight after big fight and even if he didn't get hit too much were draining events and mentally tiring.
I don't think Ruiz would have beaten Joshua a couple of fights previously.
I wonder if these big build ups are affecting Fury a bit?
This is where I think wilder and his team have been clever in taking it slow and waiting for the right time.
If he and Joshua were to have fought a unification. Joshua would have had to have had 4 fights to unify doing all the draining work to get the titles together and all the mandatory fights whereas wilder could remain fresh and waiting in the background for the right moment.
    Just a thought
