Why isn't anyone talking about Fury's illegal jab and why are refs not warning him about it?
You mean the left hook?
what u mean?
What? Does he post with it?
I know what you are talking about, and he has been warned about it in at least one previous fight - the chisora rematch, ref. stopped and told him to throw his jab straight, because he was flicking it more like a back hand, more noticeable when hes in southpaw mode
Ref actually stopped the fight and warned him about it in Chisora 2 fight. He was throwing it all night against Wilder. Didn't watch Schwarz fight, just a few seconds clips and he threw it at least once.
Cool stuff. Id like to throw Wilders cuffing into the mix then if we are talking about punches which arent delivered properly?
It can definitely cause cuts or irritation to the eye.
Idk if it's illegal but it's an annoying back hand slap. Almost 0% of pros throw it lol.
It is illegal, I brought it up when people were claiming Hughie Fury was jabbing Joseph Parker's head off - Joe was slipping most of the legit jabs, but wasn't getting around all of the back hands as obviously if you move off your centre to avoid something which could only (within the rules of boxing) be going "inwards" then it flicks out then its all a bit nonsense to be scored.
Someone else justifiably also brought up Wilder, who a LOT of his damaging "punches" are not punches at all - or come in from the back of the head. I have no idea how some of these things are allowed to go on, especially when they change the course of a fight.
Yes he did it aginst wlad too but at this level they do not usually give warning about little things like that and i dont expect them to do it now when he has this huge espn contract
Thing is, they should both be warned about it really as they are quite big weapons in their armoury. Wilder cuffs with power shots and they do a heck of a lot of damage. Fury's flicks are a constant distraction as they tend to come from below the eyeline of his opposition so he can bring the hooks in around the side. Technically both illegal, but meh. Its prize fighting.
Unfortunately when you reach the top of your sport or have the right handlers refs tend to be more lax towards you when it comes to the rules. It’s illegal, but refs know they’d be putting themselves in hot water to take a point away or disqualify a fighter like Fury for using a backhand, since he’s one of the biggest names in the sport. Even though the ref warned Fury when he fought Chisora it was obvious Fury didn’t care and kept doing it, since he knew the ref wouldn’t disqualify him.
I've been saying this for time.presume you mean that back handed thing he does?
strange how some of these star, spoiler type fighters do this?Andre Ward was bad for lacing.
What about Andre Wards illegal head butts?
