i cant compare the 2 fights really.

however i think fury has the edge in the build up's.
Unsettling wlad with his games and personality really made wlad NOTICEABLE uncomfortable.
this is probably why fury did so well in the actual fight.
if fury would have been the respectful gent like joshua in the build up, wlad may have done a number on him, whether wlad was on form or not.

wlad in the joshua fight reignited the fire, felt like he was the man again (albeit without belts), joshua had looked up to wlad for years and wlad knew this. He could come in to the fight with nothing to lose, joshua had everything to lose.

Joshua beat him well in the end but that 5th/6th round was scary as f*ck for joshua and his fans lol (i am a joshua fan)

    this is my opinion.

Fury won more rounds than Joshua and had an easier time but taking into account the style match up I think Joshua did better.

    ok which is better London

Beating wlad 2 years before and beating him after his unbeaten fun for a decade

or beating a 41 year old wlad who already lost and who was inactive?

    AJ's win was more impressive.

Fury looked better ... against a worse Wlad.

AJ looked worse against a better Wlad.

And when I mean better or worse, I'm talking about the mental aspect of the game.

I think you would have to rate Furys win over Wladimir as the greater win of the two.
Joshua was facing Wladimir when coming off a convincing defeat to Fury.
Joshua and Wladimir was a close fight before the stoppage whereas Fury looked fairly comfortable alot of the time against Wladimir

Fury sucks, he landed an uppercut on himself.
He is featherfisted or else he would have knock himself out.

Fury almost won every round and snapped an 11 year win streak. Plus Wlad wasn't coming off a year and a half layoff. No contest here... Fury.

As I said, taking into consideration all the factors such as Wlads determination against AJ, his mental capitulation in the Fury build up and the stylistic match up, I thought AJ did a better job. Obviously on face value Fury won more rounds and had an easier time, i'm just taking into consideration all the other factors.

    This was a great movie!!

    Back to boxing:
Tyson's win over Wlad was comprehensive and dominating.
He completely befuddled Wlad. Joshua vs. Wlad was
exciting because they fought on equal terms, if Joshua
could've done what Tyson did and not took punishment, he
    absolutely would have.

And the pundits saying Wlad was more motivated for the Joshua
fight, that's bullspit, Wlad was on an extreme dominating high
coming into the Fury fight, the Joshua fight, Wlad had just been
dominated by Tyson, was 2 years into a layoff and well over shelf
life (over 40). He was expected to lose and did better than everyone
    thought.

Tyson's win is far more impressive, (I could care less about the KO).
Takes a lot more skill to dominate someone over 12 rounds.

This is one of those questions where either side has a legitimate argument.

IMO, Fury's was the more impressive victory to me. Beat a man on an eleven year win streak no one gave him a chance to even last a couple of rounds with on said fighter's home turf, and not only beat him but boxed his ears off without breaking a sweat. The amount of mental fortitude and self belief necessary to achieve that is staggering, and I don't think enough people truly understand that.

Joshua's victory was impressive in that it had action galore and ended in a come from behind knockout, but it was against a two year older Wlad on a long layoff who'd already been broken and no longer had the aura of unbeatableness about him. As a fight it was brilliant. In terms of achievement it doesn't come close to Fury's victory.

Really comes down to what you like about either man.

Well said, arguments can be made for both sides, imo both wins were just as impressive fury schooled him and AJ Stopped him in his 19th fight. They both won in a way the other guy could not and that just makes their own fight more exciting.

Two totally different styles, makes it difficult to compare who had the better performance.

Fury executed his game plan perfectly, made Wlad look average and as boring as it was to watch for the most part, it was a tactical masterclass.

AJ cant fight like Fury, he doesnt have that ability. But Fury cant fight like AJ.
AJs performance against Klitschko was far more than what anyone could have hoped, it wasnt perfect but for me thats what made it more impressive. He has had everything in his career his own way up until the Klitschko fight (except a left hook by Whyte). He had to learn and adapt rather than just walking in and knocking the other guy over til the ref stopped it. He had to actually box, pick himself up off the canvas, rejuvenate himself after punching himself out, dig deep and find a way to win. For me that was more impressive, it was so imperfect and will have developed him massively.

Not taking anything away from Fury, he fought his fight and Wlad never got a look in.

So to try and simplify what i have put above...

Furys performance was better - he dicatetd the fight, controlled it and executed his plan perfectly. Joshua didnt.

Joshuas was more impressive - If that makes sense. Had to for the first time in his career do things the hard way and proved himself with the elite.
