Wlad's conditioning is usually excellent considering his chin isn't great he got up off the deck 3 time vs sam peter. That points to good conditioning. He's been the 12 rounds and won every time. he has also stopped guys with big shots late. Again pointing to good stamina, etc etc

He is athletic - look at his speed and ability close distance Haye
something Haye was surprised with in their fight.

Fury does have good punch volume but they don't have nearly the power Wlad is packing. It tends to be a trade off.
Wlad is the better athlete. he has never not been in shape. When Fury is tends to be a guessing game.

Wlad is a 60/40 favourite when they fight as Tyson still hasn't fought someone he doesn't dwarf

 

Fury looked better against Kingpin and landed far more clean shots on him than Vitali did. At the time Johnson was only ever beaten by Vitali.

Fury looks more like Vitali than Valeuv - only with more dimensions and none of the awkward stiffness.

Vitali was a country puncher. Fury is anything but a counter puncher. He lacks the technical finesse to anticipate punches, to set traps and to counter his opponent.

So no, dont see the similarity outside of post-surgery Vitali having much much less power so he relied on the accumulation of weaker punches to win stoppages. Much like Fury today.

He hit the deck cos he wasn't quick enough to avoid wild telegraphed swings from a guy who fought in slow motion and had cement boots.

What happened when he closed the distance? NOTHING. He never hurt Haye once.

Cutting the distance had nothing to do with his speed and everything to do with his size allowing him to clear more ground with fewer steps.

And Wlad gassed bad in that fight and was almost knocked out in the 12 round over it. He couldn't pull the trigger and barely threw a punch.

He holds and grapples every round cos he can't box the majority of every round.

Same way he cannot throw combinations as his stamina won't allow it

You don't understand what athleticism means. Agility , endurance , conditioning , high work rate , high punch out put , combination punching , constant movement .. is athleticism.

Vitali was easily hit against Chisora and Kingpin. Those two guys couldn't lay a glove on Fury.

Vitali is not a counter puncher in any way shape or form. He is a 1-2 clubber.

He couldn't get a clean shot on Kingpin over 12 whole rounds of boxing. All he hit was the back of his head.
