He is without a doubt in the top 10 most popular fighters in the UK right now, possibly even top 5. I posted a video of his fight against Ellis 13 hours ago and it has racked up 2,500+ views on youtube, whilst I also posted the last round of the Diaz vs Reyes fight, which has gained 42 views. :huh
I'm not sure about 'popularity', a lot of people here can't wait for him to get knocked out, no idea why you'd want a good young British heavyweight prospect to get sparked but there you go, that's people some times. But he's exciting, he's looking good stopping these guys, he's getting TV exposure and he's being talked up, hence why he's gaining a lot of interest.
I don't understand his popularity, what exactly is the attraction to Tyson Fury other than he has a silly name? :huh
yes I cant undrstand why anyone would be interested in a 20 year old marketable white British heavyweight that has stopped all his opponants. I simply cant get my head around it!
Could it be because you were the only person to upload the Tyson fight yet loads of people have uploaded the Diaz vs Reyes fight?
Wow, you're very clever. Ask your teacher to give you a little sticker. You could describe him as a "marketable 20 year old white British heavyweight that has stopped all his opponents", or you could say he is a "fat young gypo with a silly name who punches himself in the face and has only fought tomato cans".
There was likely loads of people on youtube looking for the new Tyson movie/docu and stumbled across it, hence the high number of views. Im going off him now. All the **** with calling out big price before he had even got his debut out of the way was a bit much. His mouth is starting to sign cheques his talent cant cash and if the Brits hate anything its arrogance. He should remember that he is nowhere near as good as some of the guys at the top of the game and just keep his head down and get back to business.
Hands up everyone who says Fury's the real deal. Keep them up everyone who says Khan's been stagemanaged.
There was a couple bad quality video's of the TKO and thats it. That is why I posted the full 5th round and highlights.
I just think it is the nature of British sports fans to belittle potential bright sparks as we are a largely pessimistic bunch, who seem to take pleasure in failure instead of supporting potential success. A few points about Tyson Fury. 1. Tyson Fury's name is brilliant for a boxer. You can call it silly, but that will attract media attention - is that bad for the sport? No. I would certainly follow a boxer called Evander Angry. 2. Tyson Fury has knocked out all his opponents. Yes, he is only a few fights in but the opposition have been decent considering how young he is. He is still learning and, rightly or wrongly, an undefeated record is now very important in Boxing promotion. 3. He is a good looking lad. Weird as that is, it makes a difference in terms of interest and hype. Again, is this bad for the sport? No. So why not back him? 4. He talks a good game. This is the bit that annoys me the most about the naysayers. We need some arrogance/confidence - it is exciting, it is interesting. What would you prefer? More boring plodding heavyweights who have no personality and therefore generate no interest? 5. He appears to have a solid chin - although my only evidence of this is that flush uppercut he hit himself with, and his own claims of never having been on the canvas. Iron-chinned boxers are brilliant, although more proof is needed, Tyson could be one of them and that is brilliant for his title aspirations. Why not back him?
