I always thought it was because Chisora and Joshua are friends. Besides I cant think of any time where the Joshua vs Chisora fight really warranted itself

I agree the era is terrible though
Not going to look good if the greatest of all time loses to a shot guy with that resume

Usyk better win Saturday, or we may have to seriously consider calling the GOAT

Half of Joshua's best wins will be collecting their pension next year along with a free bus pass

Think it is a bit of take your pick
The more fights someone has against higher rated opposition the more chance they have of losing I guess

    - Fury won his first World title around 9 Year 1 month ago
    - Joshua won his first World title around 8 Year 8 month ago

    Since then

    - Fury had 3 successful title defences
    - Joshua had 7 successful title defences

    - Fury is 5-1-1 in world title fights
    - Joshua is 9-4 in world title fights

    - Fury has not won any unification fights
    - Joshua has won 2 unification fights

    - Fury has faced I believe around 4 different top 10 rated opponents in that time span and lost to one of them
    - Joshua has faced I believe around 9 different top 10 rated opponents and lost to 2 of them including to a fighter not rated in the top 10

    - Fury has beaten 2 world champions
    - Joshua has beaten 3 world champions

    - Fury beat long reigning champion Wladimir to win world title but didn't defend, so Joshua was not able to contest the title
    - Joshua did win the 3 relinquished titles WBA, WBO and IBF titles in 3 separate fights

Think you could make a case for either

Fury beat 2 long reigning champs for his titles and was the man to beat the man (wlad)

Wilder may not be great but if Joshua went to America to capture that wbc belt, you bet your a** it would be among his highest accomplishments

Quality over quantity and factoring in the bad losses vs Dubois and especially Ruiz, it's extremely hard to make a case for Aj

He does have a few more names on his record, but 3 wins over Chiora, 2 when he was actually prime and multiple wins over Wilder match Parker and a bunch of geriatrics

    I would add the below:

H2H comparison aka who did a better job against common opponents:

    Kevin Johnson - AJ
Dillian Whyte - draw. Fury won more comfortably, but he was fighting a version of Whyte that was already knocked out by AJ, almost stopped by Parker, dropped by Rivas and murdered by Povetkin. In the meanwhile, Whyte and AJ was both unbeaten, unexperienced kids when they fought each other.
    Wladimir Klitschko - Fury
    Otto Wallin - AJ
    Francis Ngannou - AJ
Oleksandr Usyk - still to be determined

    Top 10 wins:

    1. Wladimir Klitschko 2015 - Fury
    2. Deontay Wilder 2020 - Fury
    3. Wladimir Klitschko 2017 - AJ
    4. Deontay Wilder 2021 - Fury
    5. Joseph Parker 2018 - AJ
    6. Alexander Povetkin 2018 - AJ
    7. Dillian Whyte 2022 - Fury
    7. Dillian Whyte 2015 - AJ
    9. Andy Ruiz Jr 2019 - AJ
    10. Otto Wallin 2023 - AJ

    Other ranked fighters beaten:

Charles Martin, Carlos Takam, Kubrat Pulev - AJ
    Derek Chisora - Fury

If Fury wins on Saturday, it seals the deal, but if he doesn't it's still neck and neck and the debate would be put to bed only if they fought each other.

If Fury beats usyk, then I don't care if he loses to Joshua 10 times, it means he is greater

Joshua is younger and looked after his body, so is way closer to prime

Anyway, I'd still be confident that a battle worn Fury could beat Joshua anyways

Also, did Joshua lose his pen regarding a contract to fight Dubois?

I fought the brave, ducks nobody super champion would be itching to get that one back?

    That says it all

This was the first time that Joshua has turnt down a rematch

Makes me think he knows the end is near and is securing the Fury fight whether Fury wins or loses Saturday night vs Usyk

It makes you wonder, unless hearn and Warren have a quiet deal

Why wouldn't Joshua want to try and get the only strap available? If Fury beats usyk, once or twice, then Joshua will have a belt, which would make this fight massive again. I know it already sells, but It would be huge if Aj could get revenge on Dubois

Team Aj know Dubois would knock him out again, otherwise he would scope up the IBF title which would make him the obvious choice for usyk/fury

Fury's 10th best win as it stands is a toss up between Kevin and Hammer in terms of their own wins. I would argue though that Fury's top 10 is underrated relative to retired contemporaries like Vitali and Povetkin. Chisora, who Fury beat handily at 22 and couldn't land a meaningful punch on him a few years later, may well be a top 2 win for Vitali. With a similar style, Chisora clearly outperformed Peter against all of their mutual opponents (Vitali, Helenius, Pulev), had 12 rounds of gas rather than 3 (Sanders) and never lost to a clubfighter. Vitali's 10th best win may be Kevin.

Povetkin's 2nd best win after Whyte was probably long-reigning cruiser titlist Huck, who took him 50-50 and had previously been stopped by Cunningham. His 10th best win may be Hammer.

Chisora is a top 2 Haye win at worst, Audley is probably his 5th best at HW, Mormeck his best at CW.

That Fury fight is too big so I dont blame him. Plus if he beats Fury he can always rematch Dubious after if it still warrants itself

The fact that there are even talks about Fury vs AJ fight in case Fury WINS is ridiculous. Mr. Turki has been the savior of boxing, but if he makes Fury swerve the trilogy for the fight with AJ who just got knocked the f out, his reputation may take a big hit. If Fury loses, sure, that's a possiblity and the fight that fans would want to see. A loser fighting a loser. But since AJ been quiet, I'm afraid they got it all worked out behind the scenes. Hope Usyk spoils their fun... Again.
