No I agree he tried to get that cut opened up so the fight could be stopped. Thats what I was thinking when he did that. Tyson definitely tried to quit in the first fight too, but I think initially Holyfield did a lot of butting and most of the holding. Tyson later said he was seeing double and in a daze from the 5th round on because he was butted so much.
Still though watch round 9 at the end. Holyfield looks like hes going to quit between rounds. All his cornerman had to inspire him to keep fighting. Thats why I say, Tyson throwing one punch at a time and doing really nothing still exhausted the hell out of Holyfield. The fight is overated, both were far from their best at this point.

Not true. Tyson was coming off of explosive Ko's, and then all of sudden he was forced to go 12 one sided rounds.

Holyfield was just as sloppy or more in a lot of his title fights. Stewart, Cooper, Dokes, etc...

These posts are getting ridiculous. Holyfield looked way more vulnerable than Tyson did against inferior competition, getting knocked silly and brawling with bums like Bert Cooper.

Terrible inside fighter? His body head combination on the inside started the stoppages against Bruno, Tubbs, and Ruddock in the first fight that I can think of off the top of my head. Tyson became a very good infighter as his career progressed, he just regressed a lot in prison.

Yes, I agree with most of that, the fight is overrated. Both men were removed from their primes.
But it was still quite a brutal fight, had a lot of tension, and was a massive upset.
I think it was better than the Holyfield-Lewis affairs (or most other Lewis fights for that matter), and I'm glad Tyson and Holyfield actually got to fight, belated as it was.

:lol:Don't get me wrong I respect Foreman he beat two of my dudes in Qawi & Frazier. Really, Qawi had no business at heavyweight and wasn't as effective as he was at lower weight classes but it was his choice to move up. Also, everytime I demand to Foreman Hook why he hates Tyson he runs away. ALWAYS.

You may be right but I even went back as far as the Ferguson fight and even then Tyson needed room to punch sometimes though he looked fine inside here. I do see some good inside work.

I'll look at more Tyson especially an early Tyson to get a better assessment whether Tyson was a good inside fighter.

Tyson will still be considered one of the best heavyweights like it or not. Fangirls? Is that still a good reason to hate him just because some of his fans are nutlickers? Before I became a Pacquiao fan I respected him even though I knew many of his fans were nutlickers. About Qawi, that still was a good win at heavyweight for Foreman and imo Big George beat Briggs too. I respected that he just went on and didn't complain about the judges giving the crooked decision to Briggs just because he was younger. Really take into what I said. I'm an Ali fan and some casual fans think he really is the GOAT ever though that's not true. I still support him and appreciate what he's done in the ring. Tyson is weird out of the ring but in the ring at times he could be very entertaining to watch and it's hard not to respect him as a fighter. Nutlickers will say whatever but they aren't a good reason to hate the fighter they love.

    Stop smoking crack

A bigger possibly steroid taking Holyfield couldnt get a post prison Tyson out of there in 10-11 rounds, but a SMALLER Holyfield will do the job, right, ok.

Tyson wipes the floor with Prime Holyfield in 1991-2

Bert Cooper a bum!!!! - You normally quote him as a very dangerous fighter with a trememndous punch when you over exaggerate Bowes abilities

Totally agree, Tyson always seemed head and shoulders above his opposition whereas, Holyfield tended to struggle with a lot of them.

Dont call Bert Cooper a bum, otherwise Mongoose will come after you
