I favor Holyfield too but i think it is worth noting.

We were robbed of an epic fight, I was gutted when it was cancelled. Watching that old footage would make my hair stand on end if I had any.

Evander was a litle smaller though at that time. That was prime Holyfield who had a totally different style. He fought like a middleweight almost. He threw alot of punches and combinatons. Sometimes he got gassed because he couldnt move some of those big guys. Also Tyson was better in `91. He still had some speed then.
On the flip side I do think that Evander knew that he could go into deep water with Tyson . That place in a bout when it really has nothing to do with boxing.

It wasn't the size of Holyfield that helped him beat Tyson it was sharp counter punching. Holyfield of 91 was much faster than the 96 version.

He did counter but he also was strong enough stand his ground and even push Tyson back. The extra weight may have helped him absorb Tyson`s early power. Evander also developed some intangible skills on the inside that served him well. IMO if you try to move around and give ground to Tyson you are making a mistake.

Holyfield was never weak in there despite being much lighter than his opponents for most of his bouts. Remember him picking the much larger Lewis off the floor?

Your point is? Lewis still outweighed him a hell of a lot more than Tyson would have in 91. Holyfield was always very strong.
