People defend him because there are those who are quick to undermine him as a professional and as a person.

Check out this interview right after the Holyfied 2 fight. Tyson really seemed like he bit Holyfield's ear off because he was completely frustrated with Holyfield constantly head butting him. So he felt the only way he could get even was to bite his ear off. HA HA. But check it out.

as a tyson fan, even if I could justify one bite to get back at holy for headbutts, what was possibly the point of the second bite? it's been a while since i've seen it, maybe holy headbutted him again after that first bite, but i'm pretty sure not. I gotta think that although Holy was butting, Tyson got really frustrated b/c Tyson just landed some very good shots on holy and it was obvious Holy wasn't gonna get ko'd easily so Tyson wanted out of the fight rather than go threw another long battle in which there was at least a fair shot he was gonna lose. Tyson f...d up. All that said, you know Holy was on every performance enhancing drug he could get his hands on at this point in his career and IMO the great resilience he showed in taking good Tyson shots like few others have is due in part to that stuff. Remember Holy was losing his hair at age 30, made an easy transition from cw to hw, had some type of heart defect, miraculously recovered after visiting a "faith healer" from the heart condition that was gonna put him into retirement, and was shown to be still hitting the sauce years later by sports illustrated.

He doesn't need to be undermined. He's a convicted ******, he bit someones ear, tried to break someones arm. Do you need anymore?

Im not saying what Tyson did was right or wrong, but if you watch the first fight closely, Tyson attempted to butt Holyfield back and ended up hurting himself in the process, I remember Bobby Chez saying how bad it buckled Tyson legs. Tyson refused to be bullied in the second fight, like he was in the first fight, so he bit Holyfield instead of trying to butt him back.

To all the people that say Tysons wrong for biting Holyfield, maybe a few of you should step in the ring and find out how bad getting butted really is, especially when the ref keeps letting it go on.

Thousands of other fighters manage to take butts without biting people. Your fanatical defence of Tyson's antics are absurd.

Holyfield is probably one of the best head butters in the history of the sport, I think no one will dispute that. Look what Holyfield did to Rahman, it look like someone hit over the head with a baseball bat. Holyfield never got a point taken away or anything, I dont know about you, but if I was in a fight and my oppenent kept fouling me and ref did nothing, I would have to take matters into my own hands like Tyson did.

Then what was the reasoning on Tyson trying to break McBride's arm?

If he is convinced that he can win, he'll resort to something to try and get his revenge?

I think he was more frustrated in that fight than anything else, Mcbride pretty much would punch then hold when Tyson would try to get on the inside with him. Tyson just didnt have it that night, He didnt want to fight any longer in the fight so he decided to try and foul out instead.

mike is right here ,no 1 seems to remember holyfield bit a guy in the amateurs i think it was and his illegal use of his head was brutal in both fights with tyson.

I'm not excusing Tyson for biting a man's ear as you should never do that but in this interview, you can sense his frustration about the head butts. I mean if the guy keeps coming in and purposely head butting you, you have to be frustrated. This is boxing, not a head butt fest. And from some of the clips i have seen of both fights, Holyfield does seem to come up with his head time and time again against Tyson's head. He has a way of rubbing his head against Tyson's constantly. That has to frustrate any fighter when you know that he's trying to head butt you.

And you see the huge cut on Tyson and that was the result of a head butt.

The way you make excuses for this animal is pathetic plus he has you all fooled. Tyson is not stupid, he knew exactly what he was doing. He didnt fancy another pasting so took the cowards way out.

Klion22, you say you're not excusing him but thats exactly what you keep doing. I don't need to listen to that nonsensical rant again to try & find reason in what he did. He was wrong to do it.
