It looks fantastic on paper but in reality, Spinks wasn't an A-level heavyweight. He was fortunate to fight a fading Holmes and fortunate to get the decision in the rematch. He was a remarkable light-heavyweight, but that didn't transcend to HW in my opinion. Stylistically he was never going to beat Tyson.

Well, certainly not with the strategy of drowning Mike in the nervous pee puddle he made when the bell rang. That was a **** strategy basically.

Stylistically Hearns IMO wouldn't beat Hagler - Hearns was a fantastic welter, but not the best middleweight. So does this mean Hearns, who is Haglers best name on his record (unless you count Duran which I don't due to him not being in his prime and at a much higher weight than he began at), is not a A-level victory for Hagler? :hey;)

Barrera vs Morales I is the the most beautiful brawl ive seen. Im sure Tyson said on an interview once he admired those two greatly, or small brawlers in general more so than HW's or something

Mike Tyson was as often stopped as Patterson. Patterosn is said to have a china chin. Patterson was stopped by wo atg punchers in Johannsen and Liston and by Ali. Tyson was stopped by Douglas, Holyfield, Lewis, McBride and Danny Williams. :think

McBride and Williams are write-off's - against Lewis, Holy and Douglas they were late into the fight, basically an accumulation of punishment.

Patterson was smashed in a round twice by Liston and knocked down plenty of times by Johannsen.

Yeah but Liston is a better puncher than everybody Tyson fought including Lewis and was just the most terrible style match-up for him. Tyson never fought his cryptonite. Patterson did. Johannsen is an atg puncher, the only one of such Tyson fought is Lewis.

Patterson's career was as long as Tyson's. Tyson was stopped at the end by the Danny Willimas and Kevin McBrides of the world. Patterson was stopped by Muhammad Ali in his last fight.

btw. I rank Tyson and Patterson boh in the same bracket between 11 and 13.

For me i liked Tyson a lot to and followed his entire career.....but to me the most fun to watch was a prime Ali....He was fluid in motion and wasnt afraid to attack with speed, accuracy, and beautiful combinations....

Someone who really understands Tyson's style.:good

Well done mate, it's what I try and tell people when they try and say he only had power in his arsenal.:blood

He could slip punches in my opinion, just aswell as a prime Ali and could also match him for speed possibly too. He had the power of a left hook from Joe Frazier in BOTH hands and had such variety in his combinations. A thing if beauty in the ring, if ever I saw it.

While Tyson was a beast in his prime and undoubtedly had a very aesthetically pleasing style there have been so many other fighters who were beautiful to watch.

I could watch Hearns throw his jab, followed by the straight right for hours. I love Fraziers left hook, the rest was less graceful but that hook looks like no other. Hopkins' form and techique, Tito's power punching, Whitakers defense and Ali's grace and footwork were sublime.
