But Povetkin would be champion today if not for the Klitschkos. Tyson never had any top fighters standing in his way..

Even if Klitschko, Ali and Godzilla were champions, I doubt Mike Tyson would take over 6 years to fight them.

And to call Povetkin a champion is a slap in the face to every paper champion in history let alone the unified undisputed linear champions.

No Teke Orah and Jason Estrada and Cedric Boswell..... Oh wait.

Don't forget his gift decision vs Huck. Keep hyping Povetkin like he's anything special.

the kid who you guys are talking about is eastern european and he absolutely adores this heavyweight era more than any era before, in any weight class. he thinks the klitschkos are the greatest ever and every heavyweight era preceding this one was stacked with bums. he even believes that if the berlin wall fell earlier, we would've never heard of guys like tyson, ali, holmes, lewis, or holyfield. the guy's an utter fanatic.

He was decent. I'd rate him like I do Harold Sconiers or Demitrice King. Tough fighter, solid beard, so good skills.
You know who woulda gave Tyson hell back during his run up to the title. Clarence Witherspoon. Also, a guy like Sam Peter would have been a perennial challenger and titlist then. Him and Tyson coulda had a helluva trilogy. We mighta got a 7 fight series. :think

and if only Potvetkin were around then. He coulda KOd Bonecrusher and Spinks, and Tucker, been undisputed and then had a few good fights with Mike as well, even regaining his undiputed title when Tyson went on to prison. BUT............then we woulda never heard of Holyfield or Lewis, or Bowe or Golota, Morssion, and Foreman and Moorer would never held their share of a title. Rahman, McCall, Bruno, etc etc etc etc etc, they would have all be Potvetkins conquests, maybe for even 12 yrs like the K2 today.:D

I wish povetkin's skills or pro ledger could come close to supporting any of the lofty fantasy claims you make. Oh wait, I forget, you don't live in the klitland heartland but the outskirts, so I guess it makes sense.

Povetkin barely beat and was hurt several times by Huck but he KOs Spinks and Tucker? The same Spink who's only lose in career was against a prime Tyson? The same Tucker that went the distance with Tyson and Lewis? And Povetkin would KO them how?

And Tyson vs Peter or Povetkin  If either guy made it past the 7th Id be shocked.

if you watch the full version of the young fight, you can see that after young gets declared ko by the ref, tyson goes to his trainers and you can see him saying "i didnt even hit him" to his trainers....

even tyson was suprised that young went down and stayed there from a phantom punch...

yeah i couldnt really see a hit .

i give the klits a chance vs tyson . im not huge on tyson.

i still think tyson would beat them both. a prime tyson vs prime vitaly would be great fight.

    but tyson beats them both
