All had no answers for hugging opponents. margarito was hugged to death by Mosley, Tszyu by Hatton, Green and Kessler by Ward and Tyson by Holyfield. Mayweather hugged and beat Hatton at his own game.:bbb Are there any other examples of a fighter negating another fighter dirty tactics.
Whats the point of this? Are you looking for a hug? Dirty ***get, don't mention Green in the same sentence as Tyson. :fire
Clear reading disabilities on this forum. All those Fighters in spite of being on different levels, had no answers for opponents who were hugging and headbutting and cheating overall. Question: Which other fighters were able to overcome a cheating opponent?
The one fighter that was extremely dangerous to clinch was Marciano. His build and arms were so compact that he could still deliver KO punches even when being smothered.
Ward actually didn't even do much holding. He mugged Green, but he wasn't holding. Green was the one who initiated most of the clinches.
Green got caught sleepin just like kessler. He didn't think ward was as strong as he was. He was wrong. Just like kessler. Got mugged and had no answer to a guy with good ol infighting skills. Wipe your vagina, abu
I don't think you are accurately remembering that fight. Joe Cortez wouldn't let Hatton fight the way he likes to fight, he kept pulling him off Floyd every time Hatton tried to use his partial clinch style. Don't get me wrong, Floyd would have beaten Hatton either way; but it was Cortez that forced Hatton to box differently, not Mayweather.
Tszyu had an excellent uppercut in the clinch. Mitchell had a hugging tactic in the 2nd fight with Tszyu and he ate right hands from the clinch every time he did it. There are other examples of course...
Thanks, this is the first response to the original question. I need to go watch that fight with tszyu and Mitchell. I wonder why it didn't work with hatton though.
Of course Mitchell is a different type of boxer than Hatton(who has a "unique" style) and bear in mind that Tszyu was 36 years old in that fight. For another hugfest watch his fight with Roger Mayweather.
