    Exactly.

Tyson paid HIM not to fight.

Thanks for proving that he was scared. :good

And on the subject of your boyfriend Holyfield, he didn't "wait". The fight happened when it happened, there was no case of one avoiding the other before that.

And Holy was not shot, he was Ring Magazine #1 and Lennox was #2. In other words, the fight happened at the best possible time.

Tyson had a more lucrative bout, he can't be blamed for that. However, Lewis sure as **** didn't HAVE to accept that money did he? Why did Lewis accept the money, rather than just fight Tyson?

Because he was also promised the fight would still happen after a couple of tune ups for Tyson.

What fighter, in fact what person in any walk of life WOULDN'T take a few million for doing nothing?

Think about it - if Lennox didn't want the fight either he wouldn't have been pushing for it in the first place and they wouldn't have needed to offer him any money to back off.

Oh, and he didn't take a more lucrative fight. He paid Lennox 4 million so he could fight Bruce Seldon.

And don't say it was about the Holy fight afterwards - if Tyson though he would beat Lennox he could have fought Lennox AND Holy. In other words, it's clear he was SCARED he would lose to Lennox.

And Lewis ACCEPTED the payment. This was a business transaction that proves NOTHING about either fighter's mindset. The fact is, the payoff occured, and the fight didn't happen.

Holyfield was 37 and CLEARLY past his prime. He was rated highly because he held two of the titles, not because he was at the peak of his abilities.

EXACTLY, but they werent tuneup fights silly. Seldon was a title shot and Holyfield was the previous undisputed champ. Lewis was neither at the time. Face it, around that time ,Lewis was just another good fighter among a sea of talent out there. Lewis had not proven himself yet. There was also no outcry when Tyson elected to fight holy, as some lewis nuthuggrs would lead u to believe. After Tyson lost to holy, the lewis match was a non issue.
