Ngannou wrestles 250-300lb grizzly bears over in the UFC

Even though he's a Brit, Belly studied at the American School of slickness. His style is heavily influenced by that school and we all know that school's primary defence is not a skill or manly based one. Running and and octopus grabbing your opponent to death is the name of the game with that school and Belly was unable to do the later against a MMA fighter because of their vastly superior physical strength.

Belly should've known he was dealing with superior physical specimens from all his sparring sessions against the best MMA and kickboxing HWs in the world like Tommy Aspinall and Rico Verhoeven. But Ngannou had the element of surprise because no one had seen him in a boxing ring before and Belly wasn't expecting him to be so cagey and tactical. He was expecting him to come out swinging like a madman and blow his load after 2 or 3 rounds instead of boxing smart and picking his shots.

Belly put himself under a lot of mental pressure having all those boxing legends of the past accompanying him during his ring walk and when he got dropped that pressure increased ten-fold and that including the magnitude of the event combined to cause him to burn up a lot of nervous energy and deplete his gas tanks.

He's an idiot for talking the fight. He should've just inflated his plums to man size and fought Usyk for undisputed instead but now he's embarrassed himself and the sport of boxing royally and completely exposed it as a garbage combat sport. The sport of boxing is a complete laughing stock and the MMA guys are laughing long and loud at it and us.

There's been this school of thought that modern heavyweights are vastly superior to heavyweights of all past eras simply because it is the nature of sports to evolve and athletes to improve.

After seeing a boxing novice nearly beat a dominant heavyweight champion, how sure are we that the likes of Foreman, Ali, Lewis, Tyson, Liston, Louis, or even Marciano stand no chance of success in this era?

What supremacy? He got beat up by an mma fighter. Prime Klitschko would end Fury with a left hook in 2.

Very subjective, because Ali born in the 1990's wipes the floor with Ali born in 1942.

Same goes for all of them, training is much better, science, health culture ect.

Heck in Louis's day pads hadn't been invented and smoking was considered to of improved your health.

1990's born Ali probably would be 6ft 6 ,245lbs , floating like a butterfly stinging like an icepick in the eye.

out of prime and zombie mode Stipe almost did the impossible off the backfoot. What saved Ngannou was the size difference which makes it harder to transfer the generated force.Much.much.harder.

That chin can be cracked and we have seen him been stunned/hurt by jabs here and there. A shiti ellbow which is useless as fook without a strong body mech and a spinning kick which wasnt really the hardest - but it would make some HWs make the tango dance - doesnt really change anything.

He's still fairly basic & doesn't do anything spectacular... slow, lead feet, low output... he's just blessed with elite power and physicality & Fury couldn't bully him & that exposed Furys M.O somewhat... I don't think Ngannous performance was anything special, it's just that Furys was that bad...

The skills he showed in the clinch are very underrated. Tyson is so used to throwing the long jab and rushing into a smothering clinch where he makes the other guy support his weight. Francis did not allow that and proved to be the far superior clinch fighter, which should not be a shock as clinch fighting and grappling are major components of MMA. I noticed a number of actual MMA/Muay Thai moves Francis used when Fury was trying to clinch him up.

Honestly, other HWs should start cross training to better their clinch abilities after seeing how Francis negated Fury so badly there.

That was egregious. His fist wasn't even closed meaning he 100% went for an elbow.

It's more Ngannou's self awareness knowing he couldn't do that wild **** against Fury. He learned to box and recognized his shortcomings.

He absolutely knew what he was doing. Funny enough in Muay Thai training, you are specifically told to not make a fist when throwing an elbow as it will create more damage that way.

I'm shocked #elbowgate has not gotten more attention, I suppose if Francis didn't have a cement block head it would have been much more noticeable. Imagine the uproar had Mayweather launched a dirty shot like that back in the day?

Outstanding debut. Hopefully he will be out again soon but there's every chance he will be avoided.
