Fury was extremely overconfident, undertrained, and sold on the belief that his striking was levels above an MMA champion's.

"Tyson Fury’s PPV numbers have been leaked for his crossover fight last weekend against Francis Ngannou and they are altogether bad. According to reports, Fury vs. Ngannou did a dismal 11.5K TV pay-per-view buys in the United States and 56,000 on ESPN+ PPV.

This just in Tyson Fury postpones Usyk fight again, this time due to being impregnated by Facehugger. Fight will only proceed until chestburster comes out of Fury.

He was missing shots on purpose. Gnannou didnt even throw a single punch to fury when he was droped. The fight was staged as ****.

The only problem was that fury got caught with a left hook and dropped. If not for that, that fight would have been a somewhat competitive fight, where nobody is humilliated and where everybody did a shitton of money. But fury is a clown and he had to **** up.

I would agree with you HOWEVER Francis made it clear throughout and after that he was concerned about his stamina over 10 rounds. His level of stamina in a debut boxing fight was unprecedented, if he had confidence he could have turned the screw a little more and really put Fury in a world of trouble. There was a round afterwards where he blew quite a lot energy but failed to connect meaningful on Fury which shows even though he did have the energy you need the experience to be able to use it correctly.

Energy conservation, workrate & pace setting can make or break a fight. Floyd was a master at it. After round 3 Fury realized he had to drag the pace down and take some life out of Francis over the next couple of rounds he then realized the clinchwork stuff isn't going to work either so the Fury pulled the pace down to sub zero levels the nick a decision.

It's a very good strategy to make the fight as long as possible when you are concerned about your stamina and you are a KO artist. Yes, genius level of strategy.
A guy who doesnt try to finish a fight in this situation is a guy who doesn't want to win. It is obvious. It is not that he threw few punches, no. It is that he threw NO punches at all, NONE. Utterly ridiculous.

By the way, he hardly threw 20 punches per round, and you say that his stamina was unprecedented? wtf.

When you have stamina issues AND YOU WANT TO WIN A FIGHT, you go for the kill when the other guy has dropped. Especially when you are a KO artist.

The fight being staged is obvious as ****. You only have to look at fury's punches before he was dropped. The first right hand misses vs a static head by a couple of inches (not even an amateur would miss that hit) and the second right hand aims to the chest vs a static head. Both punches have NO intention at all to hit on gannou's head, the same way gnannou had no intention at all to knock fury out after he's dropped (that's when he is caught). Actually that's the reason why fury is dropped, since his cross righthand aimed to the chest it didnt connect on gnannous head and gannou could throw a full power left hook. It would have been impossible had fury aimed his punch to gannou's head.

As staged as a fight can be, imho.
