What are your thoughts on it, personally i thought McNeely showed some balls in there, i know the stoppage was controversial to say the least, and the result would still have been the same, but McNeely just didnt give a siht, he went at Mike like a man possessed and really went or it.

The pre hype much better than the actual fight,im still not sure McNeeley was all there really, just watch this vid....I thought the ring entrances were the fight ,pretty good entertainment though. would have liked to see him fight Butter Bean instead tbh.

I know what you mean, he looked wild in the fight, look at his eyes, and reaction after the first KD, crazy.

McNeeley's corner were a disgrace. McNeeley was doing okay in there.
If they were genuinely worried for him they should never have taken the fight. At least give the kid a chance, and give the audience a chance to see something.
Maybe they didn't want to upset Don King by letting McNeely possibly make Tyson look bad for another 30 seconds or so.
Maybe they bet on a stoppage inside 2 minutes.

Likely, Tyson was going to KO him, but that's not the point.

They were a disgrace. and yes i agree he was doing ok in there, he did better in there than most of Mike's other opponents, he was getting stuck in, and when you watch it back, he landed some good shots.

People knew or expected Tyson to win, and paid no attention to what McNeely was going to do, but when you watch it again, he was pounding Mike, and people dismiss it.

I think he was gone mentally well before the fight began. He shouldn't have been anywhere near the ring with Tyson - though I can't blame him given the amount he would have been paid. Not sure I'd really call it 'balls' as such - looked like he was scared to death.

He went to Tyson more like a desperate man.
McNeeley was just a clown for which someone one day said he could fight boxing and he believed ....
The stoppage was not controversial. IMO it was clear that something was agreed between McNeeley and his corner.
When Tyson began to land his punches and Peter went to the canvas for the second time, McNeeley's trainer entered the ring, causing the referee to end the fight. A great way to get out of the fight without damage and the payday in his pocket......A very similar outcome to the Tyson - Seldon fight.

Pretty much exactly what Don King wanted and what don King was counting on. So McNeely played his part in this & was the wrong style guy who was going to be walking into Mike. That's why he was selected as an opponent. Big big profitable bout for King and an extremely safe bout to put Tyson in.

It wasn't as if Tyson was going to have to work at things to break the guy down & if he threw big shots the McNeely defense was not going to work very long. And it didn't.

I thought McNeely did a fantastic job overall.

I LOVED how he came right out and went after Tyson, its what made such a short fight so memorable.

IMO for a very short time, Tyson got a little shell shocked and didn't react that well, UNTIL he realized how inaccurate McNeely really was and then he turned it around 180 degrees in a hurry.

Liked how McNeeley just went right at him and got countered for it but since he knew he was **** he just tried his best and that was trying to make it a slugfest.
