without the bull****, before the fame, women , money and the changing events of his lifestyle. was there anyone past or present that could have taken him at that time? he was truly a monster all in black no socks constant motion pressure and looking to knock YOU OUT.
No one could have "taken Tyson out". He was too good a fighter to be takne out. A peak Tyson was truly a remarkable boxer, exceptionally fast & deceptive for someone of his size. People always try to point to Tyson's mental state as a weakness, but at his peak, he was mentally sound. If anything, he was the only who proficient in the mind games, getting the upper hand psychologically. Its very hard to say, but you have a peak Ali, Holmes & Joe Louis. Those, at their peak, are the guys who I would give the best chance at beating a peak. I'm not saying a peak Tyson would have or would not have beaten those three, but those three are the only HW's in history whom I would say had the best chance!
I hear you Dan. I truly don't think Mike was ever mentally stable,he just didn't fight anyone who exposed him at this point. If he couldn't knock someone down within 5 or so rounds he tended to shut down. But a focused, in shape Tyson could of beat any heavyweight in history skills wise. He might be the most naturally talented heavyweight ever. Not to many could deal with his blinding speed and power. But he was mentally to fragile to beat the other opponents.
Ali definitely beats 86 Tyson comfortably. Prime Lewis, Louis, Liston, Holyfield have a very good chance to win too.
Ali would have beaten peak tyson.......... Foreman of 73/74 would have knocked tyson out in 7 rds.............holyfield a pickem...........lewis would have gotten knocked out.
Tyson from 86-89 is part of an elite group of heavyweights who at their peaks. could beat any other heavyweight. The others in the group are Louis, Ali, Bowe, Lewis, W. Klitchko and V. Klitchko. One of these guys might beat another but no one was going to "take out" any one of these guys.
No version of Tyson would beat this version of Ali...... This content is protected Nor this version..... This content is protected
By the end of 86 Tyson was yet to complete 12 rounds and the best fighter he had beaten was Trevor Berbick. Seems a bit bizarre to paint him as the best HW ever.
