Who's more deserving of the title, baddest man on the planet?

Through their first 36 fights, very few fighters have created an aura of invincibility the likes of Golovkin and Mike Tyson. Tyson's opponents combined record was 591-149, giving them a 75% winning record. Out of the first 36 opponents, 6 were undefeated and Tyson managed to stop 32 before the last bell sounded, giving him an 88% ko rating.

Golovkin's opponents combined record is 715-163, giving them a 78% winning record. Out of the first 36, 4 have been undefeated and only 2 of Golovkin's opponents have ever managed to see the final bell, giving Golovkin an impressive 92% ko rating.

We can debate who has fought the better opposition to this point in their careers! In my opinion both fighters have beaten limited fighters and when Tyson did step up he struggled. Golovkin has to step it up in order for us to determine if he is the goods or not. Just interested in peoples opinion on this topic.

When Golovkin does it at 19 years old against guys that are bigger and more experienced than him then he can get the title. Until then Mike Tyson will always be the baddest man on the planet.

I forgot about how young Tyson was when he went on his rampage! But do you think his young age had much to do with the aura he projected or was it the manner in which he dispatched his opponents?

From a pure violence perspective I think they're both equally shocking although for the whole package in and outside the ring then you'd have to go with Tyson.

That uppercut Tyson landed on Frazier was brutal, damn near lifted Frazier off the ground.

Tyson. The ferocity of his offense makes him the baddest. Golovkin is too calculating.

This. Tyson fought tough competition in the late 80's. GGG only fights people that aren't a threat. Tyson got in the ring and earned the undisputed title. GGG doesn't belong in the same sentence with Tyson.

It was the way he put guys away. At 5'10" 219lbs he was dropping guys that were 6'3"-6'5" 240 something like it was nothing. The heavyweight division cannot be compared to any division below it because there is no clauses or special privileges there. No catch weights, not weight limits, just your skills and your chin is all you have.
Tyson fought an undefeated 34-0 29 KOs Tony Tucker who had a 7 inch height advantage and a 82" reach and had to box him for 12 rounds.
Went on to KO Tyrell Biggs who was 6'5" 229 80" reach in 7 rounds.

Some guys are against GGG fighting Andre Ward for god sakes how bad can he ****ing be if a church boy got him and his loyal fans shook like leaves.

Forget opponents, it has to be Mike Tyson for me, the whole spectacle of a Tyson fight was exciting, the ring walk alone was an event, the black shorts, black ankle boots, no socks, just a towel over his body that he would lift off over his head and steam towards the ring twitching that ridiculous looking neck and then prowling the ring grinding the knuckles of his gloves in his palms.

It was really exciting to watch, I don't think Golovkin brings anywhere near that sort of excitement and buzz.

When I see Golovkin beat a man into retirement and the hospital at the same time then he gets the title. For sure.
