Which of these two victories is the more impressive?

Tyson over Holmes in 1988 TKO 4

Lewis over Tyson in 2002 KO 8

    Poll is up for voting!

I thought Tyson was a walking punch bag against Lewis

He was still a live puncher for 4-6 rounds though.

Was an older Holmes ever likely to stop a young Tyson?

Both Holmes and Tyson were considered to be over the hill when they lost those fights, but Tyson knocked Holmes out cold in only 4 rounds. That's a little more impressive to me... plus, I wasn't too impressed with Lennox's performance against Tyson. He looked a bit winded and a little ugly in that fight versus Tyson.

Tyson over Holmes...Holmes had only been defeated 2 times by the same man in Spinks..Tyson was 22 years old and knocked ol boi out in 3 rounds...When Tyson fought Lewis he had been knocked by Buster and Evander!

What about Lewis being 37 in his fight whereas Tyson was young fighting the veteran??

Tyson's win over Holmes is a better one. Tyson was shot to bits when he fought Lewis, Holmes was past it no doubt when he fought Tyson but nowhere near as far gone. In hindsight Tyson looked like an utter pug since the opening bell of he Nielsen fight.

Tyson was 35 when he fought Lewis and Lewis was the same age...I still think Tyson's win over a previous man who had never been knocked out is a better win than Lewis over Tyson...

A BETTER THREAD WOULD BE "WHOS WIN IS BETTER?"

    BUSTER OVER TYSON

    TYSON OVER HOLMES

ID SAY BUSTER OVER TYSON WAS A MUCH BETTER WIN..TYSON WAS UNBEATEN AND FIGHTERS WERE TERRIFIED OF HIM AT THE TIME!:thumbsup

Holmes in 1988 was only 2 years from his last Spinks fight. Tyson when he fought Lewis was about 10 years after his last significant fight for his title.

Holmes was well past his best and Tyson pretty much at his peak.

Tyson was further past his best than Holmes was, but Lewis was past his best as well.

All in all, Tyson beating Holmes was the more impressive win, though amazingly some people were picking Tyson to beat Lewis..... including Sky pundits Glenn McCrory and Nigel Benn.

Tyson against Holmes , well Holmes was a shadow of his former glory days , altho in his glory days ,THAT TYSON would have dealt with him the same . Lewis against TYSON, Well Tyson was a lil faded , but he also came wid the wrong fight plan , he expected to shatter Lewis wid bombs , but forgot the head movement the lateral foot work , the lead jab , which opened the door to so many dismissals. So to ansa I say LEWIS /TYSON was the more impressive.

I might add Lewis / Ruddock was MY most impressed fight . Cos Ruddock we know was a banger ("hit like a Mule" - Tyson) and had a good chin .
