The bottomline is that Tito dared to be great, took great risks.... Joe did not, had he things could be different as he is an excellent fighter but....

I guess Tito didn't have the problem of the great fightes of his day pulling out of fights, eating their way up divisions just to get away from him, or flat out refusing to fight, the struggles of being British.

Lucky Tito has so many people from his country popullating America, otherwise the networks would have robbed him of his best fights.

BTW Calzaghe holds the scalp of Jones and Hopkins, two top 100 fighters, possibly 2 top 50 fighters.

Then theres Eubank, another future HOF.

Jones and Hopkins :patsch Do you realize that Joe's best wins are Kessler and Lacy. Jones, Hopkins, and Eubank were all way past it when Joe fought them.

So? tito holds a win over Sweet Pea. Who man have ranked in their top 15 ever. What does it mean? Absolutely nothing. Pea was shot too pieces. Same was Jones and Eubank.

Perfect :good Tito did beat Pea sure, but Pea is by FAR the better fighter and way higher on the P4P list. I guess by his logic Camacho and Norris were better than Leonard. Oh yea and Tito beat Joppy, who beat Duran so Tito must be better than Duran right? :nut

Jones as I have said many times, was in peak condition, the age old adage of '' one last great fight in a great fighter'' came true, he showed more heart, the same speed, reflexes power etc in that fight than he has in the last 10 years.

Hopkins is prime now, he just smashed up Pavlik who everyone tipped to KO him, he was never about speed or power, but ability and ring smarts, this having been improved with age, ( besides he ducked Joe years back) Eubank caught Joe as an up and coming fighter, for Calzaghe to win the way he did ( inc two KD's) was astonishing, there is also beating Reid with a broken hand, Bika, Woodhall, Byrion Mitchell ( another Yank hype job that was dismantled)

Why does every thread turn into Americans hating on Calzaghe anyway? can't we just pretend he's American so everyone is happy?

Rofl. I'd love to see his pound for pound list. Bet it looks something like this

    1. Calzaghe
    2. Floyd Mayweather
    3. Ricardo Lopez
    4. Rocky Marciano

    i mean their undefeated!
