Tony Tucker.. " God spared my life for a purpose when i missed the flight to poland.. I will beat Mike Tyson and i will have the good lord on my side." Mike Tyson " If he beleives that God is on his side, come Saturday.. God will need to bless him. "
Technically, yes, but in the Botha fight, he had only been behind for four rounds, was already showing obvious signs of frustration and desperation, and had attempted to foul out by twisting Botha's arm in a clinch in an effort to break it before he caught Botha with that big haymaker, so this fight doesn't exactly demonstrate great mental strength or courage. I don't know about you, but he sure doesn't look like he's dominating in at least six of his fights to me.
I dont rate him, but I dont want to run him down as a coward with no heart. He wasn't the toughest fighter but he was pretty tough. I do try to say he was never invincible, and that the Buster Douglas fight is a legitimate piece of evidence in the case against his prime invincibility ............... all of which apparently makes me a "hater" or "too harsh". For some reason, Tyson's excuse book runs to 1000 pages where other fighters are afforded one or two lines.
I'm not gonna wade through 999 pages of "ROONEY! ROONEY! ROONEY" just to get to one page of "DON KING! ROBIN GIVENS!"
