Tyson REF-ury: more and more people think that the count of ten in the 3rd fight was one of the worst ever and that Wilder was robbed. Agreed? PS: this thread comes from a series of polls made among people in the aftermath of Fury v Wilder III.
If you want I can post some polls where people say the referee of Fury v Wilder III was one of the worst ever. Agreed?
You guys never give up. The Bumsquad has been reduced to a bunch of excuse makers. Time to move on. Your guy was exposed. It was bound to happen eventually. Wilder had to face a legit opponent eventually. Fury beat him three times, two by KO. Stick a fork in it, he’s finished.
Fury didn't look particularly hurt and waited until the ref was later on in his count like any smart fighter would. Out of curiosity OP, what do you think about the time it took for the ref to count when Wilder was knocked down in the 10th? Or when he was given time to recover after being hurt by Ortiz without even being knocked down?
Compare better the counts. Wilder's count in the 10th was regular. As to the Ortiz fight Wilder was saved by the bell (as Fury in the 4th last month) and not by the referee. The extra time given to Wildr at the start of the 8th to recover fully respects the rule book because the local commission in New York City wanted to check on Wilder for a moment to see if he was phyiscally capable of moving forward with the fight.
It might have respected the rule book, but it made no sense. He had just had 60 secs to recover, and it wasn't like he had a vitali esque cut on his face that required to dr to look at it. The ref counting when Fury was dropped in the 12th round of the first fight respected the rule book perfectly, but I bet you still complained about that. Does it hurt your feeling knowing that the majority of boxing fans believe Fury should have 3 wins against Wilder? And that he stopped his ass twice in a row after being labelled 'featherfisted' by Deontay?
