Tyson says he would have beaten V. & W. Klitschko in their prime.

I agree he would beat Wlad, Wlad would get intimidated. Vitali would be a much tougher fight though.

Marciano against Ali? He cant overcome 5 inches in height and 30 pounds, what a ridiculous notion.

Tyson vs the Klits? Tyson’s 8 inch height disadvantage and 30 pound weight discrepancy mean nothing as he makes mincemeat of the two brothers who dominated the division for longer than Tyson ever managed to.

Wlad mentally disintegrates before the fight and is stopped very early.

Vitali.. He never went down from big punches from Lewis so its hard to see Tyson stopping him. I see Tyson landing a few early doors, getting disheartened about round 8 or 9 zapped of strength by the bigger man leaning on him, and Mike either doing summat silly and getting thrown out, or Vitali showing him the doors between 8 and 10

When the smaller fighter has a clear agility & speed advantage to make up his shortcomings.

    Oh wait......

Okay so his speed and agility is enough to overcome this massive size disadvantage? So any small agile guy beats the Klits then? Does Roy Jones beat them as well? He’s even faster and more agile than Tyson.

Prime Tyson will be able to close the gap. Good hand and footspeed. Good head movement.Excellent chin. Vitali was flawed as far as fundamentals go

    Feasible but not a given.

Tyson has to overcome big height, weight and presumably strength discrepancies. I saw a pic of Tyson with Vitali and he looked like a dwarf comparatively. And Vitali was great at fighting tall.

How can two different men dominate the same division?

Because they dominated pretty much everyone they met (with some exceptions) though for obvious reason not fighting each other.

Did anyone else of that period establish themselves as a clear challenger to either brothers dominance based on consistency and longevity? Pretty obviously the answer is no. Like it or not Vitali and Wlad were the best performed heavies post Lewis up until Fury and AJ and it wasn’t a brief period.

Thats not the same as dominating the division. Vitali dominated the hand picked challengers he fought , but he never dominated the division.

Mike Tyson cleared out a whole division by himself. He was undisputed and at one point ranked P4P #1.

Even if his dominance was short lived , it was still longer than Vitlai's who never beat the champion of his division. Vitali's highest ranking win is against a past prime Sam Peter.

There's loads of top guys during that era he never even fought , let alone beat. So there's no way you can claim he dominated the era.
Boxing isn't a tag team sport.

What happens during the first 8 rounds ? Does Tyson not even get off a single combos during any of those rounds? I think he would. Its practically guaranteed he would:smile:

Of course he would. But Waldo didn't last a decade atop the division by falling down every time someone hit him. And he had a great recipe for stifling smaller opponents. Better than even Buster Douglas.

Prime Tyson would destroy any version of both Kliechko brothers. I the
see the "size kings" are out again. If the Kliechkoes were the type of fighters
that used their size/strength It would be a tremendous advantage.

But they fought in a typical European style, which is stand tall,
jab, right hand, hold. Wash and repeat. They didn't fight like
George Foreman, or push, pull ,maneuver the opponent off
balance, blast them before they reset.
Also, neither of them had the greatest intestinal fortitude. One
actually quit in a fight he was actually winning with about 3,
rds left, against a very light puncher. Who does that? And
it was a shoulder injury, not a leg.
Fighters like Tyson, Liston, and Foreman would defeat them
well before they stepped in the ring with them.
