anyone heard any old tyson sparing stories? any of the fights that he didnt look good in the sparing leading up to the fight? any insight to what other people have said about sparing with him? everyone knows about friday abunyaha and greg page dropping him. any other stories?
All I know is that he used to dominate sparring partners on a regular basis. Carl "the Truth" Williams used to one of his sparring partners. According to Rooney, Williams nailed Tyson right on the button during their sparring session and Tyson walked right through it like nothing happened. Williams and Tyson would go on to fight each other in the later professional careers. The only other sparring story I know is the infamous Tokyo sparring story where Tyson was knocked down in sparring by a mediocre sparring partner (this was the same partner that Tyson used to make his ***** in all his previous sparring sessions). It was a harbinger of what was to come (the historic Douglas fight).

My friend chris hahn used to spare wth mike tyson back when tyson fought francis.........$1500 a week..........i also have 9 rds of mike tyson sparring with oliver mccall 4 rds james broad.......4 rds tillis........mike jamieson.......and a few guys who i cant seem to know who they are(they are wearing head gear its hard to tell)....its 105 minutes of tyson sparring in 1988 for the tony tubbs fight................................gregg page told me in 2003 that tyson wasnt the same during the buster training sessions........he said his timing was really off........
