Why was Tyson able to beat Spinks so quickly? Was it because Spinks was afraid, or was Tyson just a bad style match-up for him? I honestly don't know if it would haven been much different if Spinks weren't afraid. Tyson was bigger and stronger than him
A combination of things. Tyson was absolute prime Spinks had 2 fights in 2 years while Tyson was very active. Spinks did look scared/intimidated. Tyson had faster hand speed and much greater power. Spinks seemed to have a bum knee and because of that, nerves or whatever reason did not try to move much. Result: easy and early blowout. I think 1985 Spinks of the first Holmes fight would at least last much longer. I think prime Tyson would always beat HW Spinks, though.
But spinks was taller and got more reach, he was bigger, spinks weighed 212 pounds against tyson so he was bigger than clay 64 , hearns was bigger than tua fact fact fact
