I did'nt see the whole interview.....but I saw a clip of Tyson stating the reason he bit Evander Holyfield's ears......

To you Tyson nuthuggers out there that were always making excuses for him and accusing Evander's antics of instigating the biting.......

Tyson came clean on the Oprah Winfrey show today.....he stated....
"I bit him because I was just pissed he was such a great fighter!"

It looks like Tyson is coming to terms with himself and telling it like it was!

.....and to the moderators.....please dont move this to the lounge......this is a boxing related discussion thread aimed at all those fans throughout the years on this forum who were full of excuses for why Tyson bit Holyfield........
I want the general forum, (the boxing fan) to chime in on Tyson's admittance.

I don't think anyone really needed to hear it, I'm pretty sure everyone who heard him give the headbut excuse on the night read it just like he said it there.

wow, that took some serious balls. there is no other reason to admit that other than to make a man out of the guy in the mirror.

Exactly.....the death of Tyson's daughter I believe has really put the meaning of life in perspective for him.....

.....hopefully Tyson does'nt fall in the same old traps that come with having money and being a celebrity, stays clean and make his children proud of him!

I have'nt seen it, but my understanding is that Tyson really came clean on his life on the Oprah Winfrey show.......hopefully its the start of a new beginning for him.

Tyson himself has given exuses about his behavior that night.......and the reason why people in boxing forums like this call Evander "Headbutt" Holyfield, is precisely because of Tyson and his teams accusations......

Tyson's fans took that and have ran with it for years berating a great like Holyfield.......

.....finally today, Tyson came clean and admitted it not only to himself, but the whole world......"I was pissed because he was such great fighter!":deal

    Good for Mike Tyson!:happy

Man please. Sure Holyfield beat Tyson but he beat Tyson with holding alot, punching, pushing and lets not forget the headbutt. Tyson is saying that to be nice but that don't mean he's telling the truth. Holyfield head butt Tyson is the reason Tyson got a cut from the left eye in the first fight and the right eye in the rematch and it's the reason why Tyson bit Holyfield. It's no excuse for Tyson to do that but he did it cause of it. And Tyson is not the only one complains about Holyfield head butt. Ask Lennox Lewis and did you watch Holyfield vs Rahman fight? <<<<If that don't proved Holyfield use his headbutt as the third weapon then i don't know what is.

..and practically every other fighter that he fought, along with the planet that he created on Rahmans head.

Tyson is not the only fighter to raise the issue of headbutts with Holyfield.

There is no doubt Holy was, and is, a chronic, cheating, headbutter.

Just as there is no doubt Lennox Lewis was a chronic, cheater who held guys behind the head while delivering uppercuts.

Just like Tyson who tried to break guys arms, bite guys etc.

Like Cotto, Trinidad etc who low blowed when in trouble.

All fighters do it, to differing degrees. To deny Holyfield uses his head like a Billy Goat is like trying to deny the earth is round.

I lost a bit of respect for Tyson for doing that and I always thought Evander was a class act. But I've gained a bit more respect for Tyson for admitting that. Had Tyson had a better outlook in his prime, he'd have been a better fighter and better man.

I remember Tyson's explanation just after the fight that he "snapped" (Letterman and Leno went to town with that unintentional double-entendre). But yeah, Tyson says WHY he snapped (I'm talking about him losing his cool completely, not the act of his jaws shutting on Holyfield's ear).

The dude's either a pathological liar or somewhat schizophrenic. He's flip flopped on everything that has happened in his career/life. I used to feel a little sorry for the guy because I thought he was a misguided manchild that was used, abused, and taken advantage of. Recently, he's looked like a calculated megalomaniac, but still sadly pathetic manchild.

That Tyson Documentary clearly showed how Holyfield was killing him with headbutts in both fights.. I think Tyson just trying to take the high road now.. But them headbutts is clearly what set Tyson off in that fight.. (Even though he shouldn't of taken it out on Holyfields ear) Haha! It was inexcusable but that is what set him off...

You believe him now because he said something you wanted to hear.

It's crap, I like Holyfield but he likes those headbutts. Tyson's probably sick of being asked that and just wanted to get it over with.
