This is incredibly misleading. Tyson said he was upset about the head-buts and just wanted to inflict as much pain on him. He also then stated that was pissed that he was such a great fighter, but he did it in jest to ease the situation and give Holyfield credit.

And yes, I saw the Oprah show.

    /End thread.

man fcuk this stuff, everyone acts like holyfield should have gotten away with head butting which was helping him with fights with tyson....

for fcuk's sakes, every oppenent from lewis, to moorer, to ruiz,to rahman to even dokes have the same thing to say about holyfield's headbutt's but the damn media acts like it's ok for him to do that...

in the tyson fight he got what he deserved and when he couldn't handle it,
he ran out of the ring.....

i mean if the head butts only happened with tyson that's one thing
but if like 10 guys telling you the same thing....
why does the fcuking media always brushes it off like ALL of these guys are lieing.

tyson said the truth in the documentry about holyfield's headbutts,
i for one am not happy he told oparah what she wanted to hear.

Tyson says random things all the time. Said in his documentary it was in retaliation to headbutts, I can see in the fight myself there were headbutts, and Holyfield has a reputation for using his head.

I will go with what I saw, and with what has been repeated the most instead of just another random Tyson statement.

Holyfield had a return foul coming, you can't go throwing your head around without expecting some sorta foul in return.

wow, you gotten a shocking revelation. good for you. fact is tyson was fustrated by everything. he was pissed that holyfield was outboxing him but also because of the headbutts. so it was a combination of both. the whole entire situation made tyson flip.

You didn't see the whole interview, which shows. He also mentioned holyfield's headbutting, which drove him over the edge. If you recall, Tyson was winning the same round that Holy got bit. Tyson was headbutted 5 times in that fight (over 2 1/2 rounds). Tyson has also said multiple times that he's not trying to excuse it, but that's what happened. He wasn't trying to 'get out of the fight' or any other bull**** like that.

Yeah, if you actually watch the fights, and the documentary itself which shows the massive headbutts, Holyfield actually buckled Tyson's knees with a couple of them. Tyson says in the documentary that in the first fight he blacked out from the contact of Holyfield's head and doesn't even remember the end of the fight because he was rocked so badly by the headbutts. Rewatching the fights, and the slow-motion replays from the documentary, I can believe it. Don't get me wrong, Tyson was way past his 'prime' by those fights, and it's no excuse at all for what he did, but you can understand why a man raised on the streets and used to living a fight-or-die lifestyle would resort to those tactics when abused by headbutts in the ring.

Punk moves on Holyfield's part (the headbutts), but at the end of the day, the guy still got the win eh?

So he's become humble since he's realized he's an old man? So what.

Muhammad Ali said Tyson would knock him out when they interviewed him and Leonard with Tyson for God's sake. Almost everyone old great fighter gets humble and gives credit to people they fought, doesn't mean their original statements weren't valid. Tyson said Holyfield headbutted him so he got pissed and bit him.

Muhammad Ali said, I am the Greatest.

    It won't change.

Tyson will say all kinds of reasoning, it just depends on his state of mind at the particular point in time.

Bottomline, Tyson wanted out of that fight. That is all there is to it.

one must be one or another? Holyfield was the better man that night but he did headbutt Tyson intentionally or not. It is his style.

well give the guy a break, he has financial troubles and he is doing what he can to move on with his life and make a few bucks, I wouldn't call it begging though thats pretty harsh

He didn't want out of the fight. Why would he want out of the fight in the third round, which he was winning?

He flipped out and lost his cool after being constantly headbutted, that's what happened. If you need proof, watch the fight itself or any of the interviews afterwards.
