sorry but im also sure the headbutts have SOMETHING to do with it.... anyone watching the fight can see mike gets pissed at the headbutts... maybe mike is trying to be nice by saying what hes saying, but the proof is in the footage.

also, everyone keeps saying he bit because he was losing.... i actually think he was doing fine for himself in the second fight, and i think he could have won the fight.

Tyson was being roughed up by Holyfield all night, maybe that has gotten to his head too.

Holyfield was better than Tyson. Yes.

But Holyfield also headbutted. Alot. And spoiled.

This is Tyson being respectful that's all.

Previously I had only seen a clip of where Tyson said he was pissed because Holyfield was such a great fighter.

I've have now seen the entire part where he talked of the incident and what Tyson said was that he was mad that he felt Holyfield was headbutting him, but he was also pissed that he was such a great fighter.

Tyson went on to say that he desperately wanted to beat Evander Holyfield for his own gratification.......which imo lends credence to how desperate a situation Tyson found himself in, in that 3rd round where Tyson landed his best shots on Holyfield, and by other Tyson opponents standards.....Holyfield was'nt blinking.

I believe when Tyson say's "I was pissed because he was such a great fighter.".......Tyson is acknowleadging his frustration on Evander not crumbling when his shots were landing.........

.....remember now, Tyson acknowleadges that he desperately wanted to beat Holyfield, so you know he was in superb shape for him......Tyson laid hands and landed clean shots on Holyfield but Holyfield wa'snt budging.......that must have angered Tyson right there, because in his loss to Buster Douglas, Tyson was'nt landing much of significance......the same could be said of his next loss to Lewis.......

The fact that for the first time in his life, Mike Tyson was landing his shots and an opponent of his (Evander Holyfield) was'nt budging, I believe had more to do than anything on why Mike Tyson snapped and opted out of the fight.

All this about Holyfield deliberately headbutting is nonsense......the man took a good shot because he always kept his chin tucked.....when an opponent got aggressive on him, Holyfield never gave way and with his chin tucked, his opponents would often times run into his head.

Holyfield was a master of positioning his body and head to gain position and leverage......but I never saw Holyfield actually swing his head at an opponent like I often saw Marco Antonio Barrera do at an opponent with an intent to butt a fighter.

If you're aggressive in advancing toward Evander Holyfield, you might be on the recieving end of a headbutt, because he knows how to get into position to smother and not to take the brunt of a punch.

Holyfield likes to be on the inside, and when you fight up close, you best damn sure you have your chin tucked in......a tucked chin means your head is tilted foward......but never has Holyfield started swinging his head with the intention to headbutt.

The interview was recent, and just aired today on the Oprah Winfrey show......

I believe you can see the whole interview on Oprah Winfrey's website......you could probably google that.

.....or you can watch it in parts on youtube.

This was after Holyfield got the better of Lewis in their rematch.:lol::lol:

.....all of the opponents that have complained about Holyfield headbutting were all opponents that got the crap beat out of them by Evander.....
.....Lewis was upset that he was'nt able to impose his style in the rematch the way he had done in their first fight.....in fact, the only fighter that got hit cleanly and rocked in that rematch was Lewis......I could understand why he'd be complaining.:yep

Basically that's how I see it.

He was mad at the headbutting, the cuts, and the fact that Holyfield was beating him. Tyson was having a good 3rd round but Holyfield wasn't going anywhere.

It's not as if Holyfield was the first guy to fight dirty against Tyson.

^^Holyfield fought better in the rematch but he clearly lost. He made it close but like i said he clearly lost. Lewis landed more, threw more with better percentege. And you might missed the first Holyfield vs Lewis fight cause Lewis was complaining about Holyfield using his head as a weapen. Didn't you not see in the 9th or 10th round Lewis was complaining to the ref about Holyfield sticking his head out?
