In the US a name isn't patentable - that's what a trademark is for which is what this guy is claiming he has. He's representing himself, though, which is a pretty strong indicator that he has no case. A lawyer would take this on contingency if this had any traction.

this is EXACTLY what is wrong with our legal system in the US.... this guys is filing a lawsuit.... How long after mike retired????:nut

problem is Mike will have to spend money just to show its a bull**** lawsuit and get it thrown out

mike needs to counter sue him for legal fees. I found out here in Germany, if you sue on something like this, the loser pays BOTH fees. Thats what we need in the US

What a joke this guy is. Mike should take him behind the court building and KO his ass:bbb

Exactly what I was going to post. Why wait till now? Why not have sued back in 86? When Tyson won the belt off Berbick?? Surely this will be laughed out of court. I mean its a joke if it ever even gets there.:patsch

And the 6-4 record?:D Yes I do wonder why you never landed any real title fights!

I think this is just a joker trying to grab a headline for himself. He's not going to court. Representing himself?:lol:That also says a lot!

Why?? Tyson is HIS REAL NAME. NOT A NICKNAME!!! Apparently his dad was a big boxing fan and his hero was Tyson..so he named his boy after him. That will be his only claim to fame cos he to is going nowhere fast.

And what about all the 'Sugar' Ray's there have been in boxing, or 'Fast' Eddy's for that matter...

There wasn't that much to read and yet you missed the fact the guy is representing himself? I doubt a lawyer would touch the case. They can be held accountable for frivolous lawsuits along with their clients.
