Racial issues never make any sense, but if there's any country that has them it's South Africa.

That appears to be the case here , In Sif Afrika its claimed by womens groups that the 50,000 reported **** cases that are reportd in the country every year represent only a 1-9 percentage of the true numbr of victims and the ANC Leader who was going to attend the dinner held to honour Mike Tyson was involve in a **** trial two years ago apparently ,Hence the women's group protests . Regards Josey Wales

I have lived there and Its a fact that the white South Africans are about as racists as they come and they are very anti American as well. There are still great racial tensions where the average white man has had his car stolen three times and must keep his house fairly barricaded.

**** has also heavily effected both sides so that could be the big issue against Tyson

I have clients who just moved to Canada from South Africa because in their opinion its no longer safe to raise a family there. They are white, they seem like nice people but definitely are nervous of all none whites. Any way, based on my talking with them I'm not surprised at all by the reaction Tyson received. I guarantee the outrage was from the white minority who defiantly would find Mikes image to be a huge threat. Tyson's history only makes it easier for them to do so...

In my opinion the promoter made a serious error in judgment on this one...

Im sure the Black women of S.A.., who are amongst the world's most sexually abused per capita, openly accepted Tyson. Black people do get angry at other black people too.

That's exactly what it is. Womens rights groups are protesting. I don't know why they didn't mention that.

ALL women, white and black, are abused in "New" South Africa. Women in "New" South Africa now have a one in 3 chance of getting raped in their lifetime. Funny how the US media, that used to be filled up with daily tear jerk stories about the supposed horrors of Apartheid, never never mentions what is now going on in Black-ruled South Africa and Rhodesia.
