Lewis v Ruddock. Tyson was pretty much expected to blow Berbick out,if I remember rightly while Ruddock was considered quite a risk for Lennox. Quite a few scribes predicted a Lewis victory but not by a fast demolition job like that.

    I actually feared for Lewis!
I knew what a Bomber he was and thought Lennox was too raw.
Impressed a few that day, mate.

    Lewis Vs Ruddock.
Because Berbick lost before the fight began; Ruddock didn't.

Berbick was a 6/1 underdog vs Tyson I believe, so Tyson was probably expected to blow away Berbick.

I'm not sure what the odds were for Lewis vs Ruddock, but this was considered an acid test for Lewis, and I gather it would of been a pick em fight at the time.

So Lewis vs Ruddock was probably the more shocking/surprising/impressive at that time. Put it this way it was enough for Bowe's manager, to get cold feet about a possible match up between Lewis/Bowe.

But was it a shock that Tyson got him out so quick, seeing as he seemed durable really?

Ruddock was the favourite, in some eyes a massive one.

Well Berbick had been blown in 1 round before, but I get your point. I wasn't around during that time, but the hype for Tyson must of been crazy at that time. So I think alot of people might of seen a KO for Tyson within first 6 rounds.

Yep that one round ko was in the same class has Kalambay and Nunn, imo.
In hindsight, Berbick proved very durable of course, but I see where you're coming from.
I expected Tyson to rough Berbick up and stop him around the tenth for some reason, at the time.
Didn't expect him to go flying up and down like he did. Lol

I'll never forget Berbick's legs going all rubbery after one of the knockdowns

Didn't Berbick once say "Tyson hit me so hard, he knocked me down 3 times with one punch."

I've never seen a guy go around the ring like that!

It wasn't a shock for me after his first defeat against Bernardo Mercado. Berbick had a better than average chin, but hit hard enough he'll go down.

I always suspected Shavers would have pole-axed him around 1980.

Now that would be an interesting fight!
Yep I suspected Trevor would lose but maybe not as fast as he did.
    What about Lennox v Razor?
