Again you make good points for your claim, and support it well enough to keep most posters on there toes. Though if I remember correctly, MAB lost a couple points for throwing his head off the turn buckle, and something other rough house tactic, wasnt scoring like 116-112 on the one scorecard? Hamed had some of the most P4P punching power since Julian Jackson of the late 80's early 90's, you spoke of fighters fear of being countered so they wouldnt throw on him, that instantly reminded me of Jackson at 154. Hamed does get overlooked alot, but the MAB loss is what most remember him for, sadly enough.
exactly shows you the effect of hype, tyson lost but he is remembered for the good times along with the bad(holyfield's ear) and even to some that was part of the sideshow that was mike tyson which was saddening. MAB lost 1 point for the turnbuckle thing.**** i was only about 12 but i remember being so pissed off during that fight,i really didnt know what hamed was trying to achieve out there. hamed gave us some amazing fights which he should be remembered for also, but i guess that's just the way it is,hamed was hated for being a cocky entertainer, tyson was loved for being a convicted ******.honestly sometimes the public really confuse me lol maybe im too cynical.
It's funny you copped a lot of stick yet the observations are difficult to argue with Its interesting Tyson being underprepared for Buster is described as 'objective fact' by Tyson86 yet nobody seems to buy the theory that Hamed was well past his peak by the time he met MAB (a much better fighter than Douglas) after leaving Ingle... By interesting I obviously mean absurd in its bias
Yeah, your right, but you must remember Tyson came from the tough streets and became the most recognized man in sports in the 80's, right up there with Jordan at the time. The guy gave the average fan something to stand up and cheer for, not only a ruthless knockout artist, but a skillful one at that, like a machine of sorts. In the 90s when he came out of jail, most people were behind him, he represented the rage in the ring, and the enertaining attitude outside out of it. I think alot of people in the bad neighborhoods can relate to him, as well as the average white guy that thought he was great talent that is one that was always one second away from shocking you in and out of the ring.
LOL. Hell No. Tyson is an icon. Everybody knows who Tyson IS from boxing fans to a none boxing fans, from young to old all around the globe. I cannot say the same for Hamed.
thats absolutly nothing to do with the question, thats a reason i feel hamed is overlooked and tyson is overestimated, please respond in their boxing comparatives or non comparatives, not who was the bigger icon. **** if thats the case ODLH GOAT
Tyson got Heart while Hamed has none. Tyson returned to boxing and took LeNnox Lewis shots like a Man for 8 rounds. You should at least compare Hamed to Bowe .
Good post, Tysons life was in very bad shape at the time, between changes in his corner to Robin Givens, and then you have King stepping into the forefront after Robin and her mother werent watching his finances anymore. Mike even said himself "I was to busy ****ing Jap bitches to worry about Buster", he said it was a practical orgy in Japan, ever woman wanted to **** him, and he accommodated them.
That makes 3 of us, but as a Heavyweight champion you should use Brain, and not your dick, the orgies will be there after you win the fight, even more so probably. If Rooney was with Mike at the time, I think he would of told him the same.
