    Correct - on that one I'd say Tyson was more at fault than Holyfield which explained why he was so pissed off that he was the one that ended up getting cut, because he instigated it and ended up coming off worse.

    Evander was plumbing Tyson, the ref better had stopped it because if he didn't, Tyson could have seriously hurt. It got to the point where Evander was landing at will and was starting to walk Tyson down, there would have been no other outcome had he let the fight continue.

    You must be joking, Tyson had NOTHING left and was out of it late in the 10th, the 11th round he was basically standing there to continue taking punishment without offering ANYTHING in return. He kept getting hit over and over and over with no answers, this was a perfect stoppage. He doesn't need to take more and more damage and risk his life when he has nothing left to offer anyway, the referee knew he was done with so stopped it because Mike wasn't retaliating to anything at that point and his legs were GONE as he got up for the 11th.

    Here's the video, judge yourself.

    I'm usually one who thinks refs stop fights a bit quickly these days, before their natural conclusion. This was not one of those fights where I was left with that feeling.

    No way, good stoppage.

    Mike was rocked in the 10th and saved by the bell, was still shaky coming out for the 11th, and a few more good shots was enough to finish it. If Halpern hadn't stepped in Mike would've taken more shots before going down, and that was an unnecessary risk.

    Tyson was on his way out, but I agree it was stopped say 5-10 seconds early.

    Incorrect, Tyson took a whole mighty beating against the ropes and defenseless end of round 10. Vander connected with a series of left hooks and Tyson was bending, stumbling back to the ropes and defending himself from sharp right handers with his face... Noble but pointless, Mitch Halpern (RIP) did well.

    Ironically, I thought Tyson was winning the 10th round...Evander had seemed to be slowing up a bit. But those two counter rights made Tyson's brain rattle around his head like a marble in a tin can.

    It depends on your criteria;
    If you wanted Tyson to die,yes it was.
    If you wanted Tyson to leave the ring without a stretcher,no it wasnt.

    Correct! Mitch seemed to referee the fight well. I'm a Tyson fan through & through, but the stoppage was not premature by any means. Tyson took some lumps & then some! No one can say that Tyson didn't have a solid chin because the proof is in the pudding.

    Tyson showed class at the post-fight press conference by being gracious in defeat & shaking hands with Evander.

    Holyfield simply had Tyson's number. Mike was still a competent fighter at the time of facing Holyfield, but he was not the same guy as was the case back in the late 1980's. Holyfield had Mike's number, palin & simple!

    Nearly everyone in Tyson's camp felt Holyfield would be a walkover, except for parhaps Mike himself. Once Holyfield was not of there at the halfway stage, Mike didn't seem to have a plan B.

    Bobby Czyz described it aptly when he said 'Mike was just getting tee'd off on'.I think the stoppage was a tad late.
