****, NO! Tyson was done in round 10... He went back to the corner on instinct alone.... Round 11 was just the icing on the cake...... Tyson was a shell.......

I thought that might be one of the best timed stoppages ever. Not too late and not too early. After Mike was obviously not going to recover and before he took a lot of punishment. Fact is he was hurt at the end of the 10th. It was a matter of time. You knew the ref was going to stop it when Mike was hurt again.

Nah, it wasn't premature in the slightest. Tyson was done - look at his legs before Holyfield unloaded and he was jittery then.

Good stoppage, Tyson had been out on his feet since the headbutt KO rounds earlier!

You, and anyone else who thought that fight was stopped early, are complete and total idiots!

Checkout the post fight interview and even minutes after the stoppage you could clearly tell Tyson wasn't all there yet. The poor ******* was totally punch drunk.

Also, take a look at Tyson's recent documentry as well and there he explains how he doesn't even remember most of the fight. Now that's a clear sign of a man being badly concussed in a fight.

    Morons! :verysad

no, it wasn't stopped too early. tyson was hurt badly in the round before, and you could tell by his eyes that he was dazed. in the eleventh round, he got caught good, and that was it, he was totally gone.

It must hurt you to see how dominate Evander was in that fight to even think it was stopped too early. Tyson was gone when Evander sat him on his sorry arse in the 6th. Great win for Holyfield.

In my opinion the only thing that kept Tyson up at the end of that fight were his strong legs because his head was on ****ing ***** street. :nut

Correct stoppage & Tyson even said that after the 5th or 6th he did'nt know where he was, he was gone after that hammering he took at the end of the 10th.

I'll never forget being at the MGM for this fight, incredible atmosphere & i can honestly say i felt so sorry for Tyson after that 6th round knockdown as it appeared the whole crowd turned & were screaming Holyfield! Holyfield! & Tyson was just stood ring centre with both his gloves up stood square & i thought you poor ****, it made me feel that he was the loneliest man in the world at that moment,it's always stayed with me that few seconds as i turned around to watch the crowd screaming, especially the women.

Here's my VIP poster that was given too the fleeced as a thank you by the MGM:p

Referee Mitchell Halpern blew his brains out in the summer of 2000 over an issue with a broad.... He must've been tripping hardcore.........

It was not a premature stoppage, the referee, Mitch Halpern, God rest his soul, made the right call imo. It was the culmination of the punishment that Mike shipped in round 10 that caused the stoppage in round eleven!

For those who think Tyson was not a durable guy, just watch his losses to Douglas & Holyfield 1. Even in the loss to Danny Williams, when Tyson was light years away from his peak, Williams hit him with something like 20 unanswered shots before Mike went down!

    Tyson had a great chin!
