I have never been captivated by any of lewis's performances,he doesn't posses any special carisma at all,I will conceed he may not have avoided tyson as they were on completly different paths, and their timelines didn't permit,Tyson was in terrible form against buster, but how special was busters performance,I don't see lewis possesing that kind of spark, edge, etc,he's like the klits, boring jabfests, nothing explosive or exiting.

Bit like a rachorse that has a bad run then bounces back to form hey

Every fighter has excuses from time to time, but why is it genuinely considered by and large that Mikes always are more relevant than any other boxers excuses at a given point. I think because he was built up so much people don't want to believe another human being could possible conquer the great Irin Mike.

What's Tyson excuse getting beating to a pulp by Holy in 1996? He was a great looking specimen at no more than 30yrs of age etc

I wonder what would have happened if the much anticipated Tyson-Holyfield match up in 1991 had occurred.

If it wasn't prime Lewis in the McCall fight, was it prime Lewis when he got stopped by Rahman?

Tyson's prime ended before the Buster fight. He hardly trained at all for Buster. At the time, Tommy Hearns said he'd fight Tyson if Tyson would train for him the way he did for Buster.

The Tyson that walked through Spinks and demolished Holmes (who later as a 45yo went the distance with Holy) was prime Tyson.

Holmes was 42 when he fought Holyfield in 1992 and it was a very very easy win for Holy. Yes Tyson walked through Spinks but Spinks was a light heavy and Holmes hadn't fought for 22 months before the Tyson fight and was coming off 2 defeats to a great but blown up light heavy in Spinks.

I'm ok with either way, but I doubt Tyson would lose.

There was a significant difference in his fighting style on the Buster night to when he was preparing properly. Tyson was never ever at his best again so no he cant be compared to a racehorse returning to form.

Alot of fighters have quit the sport 10 years after they first start. Tyson at 96 looked great but he was crap compared to peak Mike.

My mind cant comprehend anyone beating Mike at his best lol.

....are you sure you don't mean 1990...before Buster Douglas?...regardless...that's the fight that should've happened....Holyfield had been number one contender for over 18 months by then...Iron Mike didn't want a bar of him....sadly for Mike he was at the start of his spiral downwards at that stage....I believe Evander would've had the edge then too.

Fighters mature at a different rate ( physically and technically i'n boxing terms ), Tyson was a boy trapped i'n a mans body early doors , Mike had the early advantage over Lenny earlier i'n their respective careers but Lewis caught up and then overtook Mike , if they had fought before 89 then Mikes kicks Lennies arse , any later then the reverse happens IMO .
