At what point in Tysons career do you think Mercer stops him ? .This would be the Mercer of the Lewis fight fully fit and mentally up .I think this Ray would be to much for Tyson of the second Holy fight. Mercer was very tough and feared nobody I see mike taking punishment late and bailing out .What do you reckon?
2001 Nielsen Tyson or later for sure. Maybe even by the Botha fight because he was mentally broken by then. But 1997 Tyson of the second Holyfield Fight was still physically nearly the same, was in great shape and had trained really hard, was moving his head and jabbing. He lost his cool because Holyfield Had Just knocked him out, his career was on the line and Holyfield Had just managed to cut him really bad and he panicked and lost control. Tyson had never fought and lost to mercer before, there would be no flashbacks to the previous loss or doubt in his mind. He would come in confident and would keep trying until he's KOd like with Douglas Lewis and the first Holyfield Fight. Stylistically: He would have no problem hitting mercer. Mercer wouldn't frustrate Tyson since he's nowhere near as quick or crafty with the "duck and maul" Tyson also wouldn't have to worry about well timed quick counters, being beaten to the punch or being outboxed.
